Just bought I’ll teach you to be rich by Ramit, Sethi, haven’t read yet but listened to him speak on a podcast and his perspective was great.

he wrote the book ~10 years ago during the recession and most of his writing has held up to today.

Hello everyone,

I am working in a company where I got the exposure of financial modeling, valuation, pitch books, market research, due diligence, etc. And currently we are also working on product development for retail investors.

I have applied (through refferal) to Bain and company and it's been more than 10 days. I have not heard anything from them. Is it wise to re apply again and again?

Could you please guide or connect me directly to the HR?

I just don't know where to start, any suggestions on good how to books for beginners? What daily news sections should I be reading?

Partners - I'm (SM5) an introvert and struggle to connect with people sometimes. Especially when I don't see them much (thanks covid) and don't work with them much. I want to build connections with like VP finance or the CFO on my job but I work mostly with the controllers (whom I have good connections with). I find it awkward to call people who I don't work directly much without out of the blue to do coffee or lunch.

Any tips or advice on how to build these connections? Any podcast or books

It's a client facing job, but it might come at a later stage of a job, maybe after finishing my internship and getting a job offer.
I'm interested to know what is the must develop skills, must take courses or must read books to get insight, develop the required knowledge and skills for the position. I majored in business management finance and currently preparing for CFA level 1. Thanks in advance ☺️

I’m a new CSM (9 months) and I work at a company that doesn’t invest much in its CSM team. I’ve been struggling because as time goes on I feel more and more like a token hire. We have no play book/structure, no CSM tool and I’m current organizing all 95 of my clients on spreadsheets while also handling presales trials with a salary under 50k.

Long story short: I’m searching for mentorship or to be pointed in the direction of a good course so I can help the clients I do have while I’m here

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Embarrassingly never started investing in stocks. I have elementary knowledge on index funds, individual stocks and have down research on options. I have 30k I want to inject into the market. 10k of that, I’d be happy to play around and if I lose it I lose it. I’d like to be relatively hands off. Don’t want to buy and sell more than a few times a month. Would appreciate hearing tips on how to start! Thanks!

We remodeled our kitchen and got a significant ($4.5k) manufacturer’s rebate on our appliances.
