Really liked the SPG Great Northern Hotel. Boutique feeling at connected to Kings Cross so you can get everywhere in London. The Sheraton Grand Park Lane is amazing too with a great renovation but they recently upped it to 20k points.

Park Lane Marriott - super swank!

like

Yes! It’s a super posh area. The hotel is nice - especially the executive rooms, if you’ve got status.

like

@Pwc1 - still keeping the St Ermin’s in mind, as it did look quite nice and cost less points as well. Glad to hear it’s a nice one!

like

Yeah, try it sometime. Great location, half a block to a Tube station, beautiful property. They even have beehives and use some of the honey onsite for tea.

like

Yeah? I was looking into that, the two Grosvenor House properties, and the Renaissance at Kings Cross (which all cost the same amount of points) on the Marriott side...not super familiar with the Park Lane area though—is it a pretty prime location to be in?

Cool, thanks for the recommendation!

I second D1 - park lane hands down!

I pretty much always use Grosvenor House (not Grosvenor Square) and St Ermin’s (a great Marriott Autograph Collection property by Westminster Abbey and Parliament). I’ve spent over 50 nights in each and recommend both.

Thanks All! I ended up using points for two nights at the Marriott Park Lane, per the earlier suggestions and had actually already asked my ambassador about applying my free night reward towards the Great Northern for my third night (looks like the nicest Category 5 hotel I’ve ever seen, at least in the pictures).

+1 for the GNH

I'm making the same decision for 6 nights in December - I'm looking at the Edition and the Westbury also.. they seem to be really nice as well!

Between the Marriott and SPG brands, there are some very good higher end options. Tip for inexperienced travelers to Europe during the summer months: make sure the reviews indicate sufficient air conditioning. You might be surprised how hard it is to cool some hotel rooms during warm weather months.

Is MBB (mostly thinking about McKinsey) really that bad in terms of WLB? I feel like people tend to exaggerate things sometimes - i was told i'd be working approximately 65h at Deloitte in Tech Strategy and honestly that barely ever happened. They kind of got to me and now i'm looking for more info about the culture/work at MBB.
