CPA Really??!
Had a great weekend linking up with fam, went wine tasting, fine dining and all. And I love it when my six year old says she wants to be a CPA when she grows up. But do I really want her to go the CPA route? My younger sister’s a doctor, brother in law’s an engineering manager at alphabet, both grossing 600K annual Bay Area combined both dumb as hell when it comes to business/finance. Sorry maybe just hating a little bit here. Am I wrong to suggest my kid to choose tech instead?

What is the homelessness situation like in Nashville? Currently live in Seattle and things are out of control here. Everything's too expensive, and the city doesn't have enough shelters for everyone. 16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.

Texas is coined a football powerhouse, but I’m having a hard time finding teams/events for my elementary school student. Can anyone point me in the right direction in the loop or in the Galleria area? Bonus points for facilities/areas in the loop where Black boys and men play/gather. I’d love my son to have that sense of community as he’s the only Black kid in his class, and we haven’t met many Black families at the closest local park to us. Black is not a deal breaker though! Need to vent. I feel like giving 100% (let’s be honest, usually more than that) to work isn’t enough anymore. My projects get my undivided attention, but I’m too mentally exhausted to participate in all the workplace extras. The groups, the communities, the talks, the panels. The concern that it makes me look bad always lingers in the back of my mind, but as a working parent I don’t know how else to say it… I’m drained. I feel like I'm aging at a rapid pace 😔😬🥴...I used to feel like I looked young for my age and now that I'm in my later 30's, I feel like everyday I look older and older. I don't wear a ton of makeup and do usually eat pretty healthily/ drink water. What other tips, tricks, and treatments should I be considering?!? First trimester insomnia?
I’m only about 5 weeks, but my sleep schedule has gone off the rail the last three nights. I’m sleepy/drowsy, settled in bed around the same time every night, and yet I cannot fall or stay asleep. I have a white noise machine, comfy bed, cool room.. etc. When I do fall asleep, it’s earlier in the morning and I sleep until 1/1:30pm. This was fine the first few nights since it was the weekend, but it can’t keep up. Anyone else experience this and have any recommendations?
