Suggestions on how to get PA jobs or any entry level film job with no degree & a few years of college?

might have to take an apprenticeship or internship so you can get your foot in the door somehow. from there your experiences can be leveraged to get on to the next thing

What's your skillset?

your best bet is probably applying to some independent production near your area. It'll probably pay a little less than you'd like but it's a decent way to get started ang get some experience. Once you get that first job it'll get a little easier to find a role in a more "serious" production

Degree is not required for a PA job but it does help, so if you don't have one you'll probably have to rely on previous experience, although some places do hire without it. Did you do any work during those few years of college? That'll determine whether or not you'll have to volunteer or take a low pay position

Check out the Referral Bowl, maybe someone there can put you on to someone near your area that might hire you: https://www.fishbowlapp.com/bowl/job-referrals-qif9-5

Do you live somewhere where you can meet people involved in production work? Knowing the right people goes a long way in this industry

This article does a pretty good job of explaining the process and your potential options: https://www.backstage.com/magazine/article/become-production-assistant-5604/

Best of luck with the job search!!

There is no one definitive answer to this question. However, here are some general tips that may help: Start by doing your research and targeting specific companies or organizations that you would like to work for, and make sure your resume is well-written and up-to-date, and that you can showcase your skills and experience effectively.

Network as much as possible - meet people in the industry, attend events, etc. - and make sure to let them know what kind of job you're looking for. Start by asking the people you know what's happening this weekend and see if you can attend some cool parties!

Get involved in filmmaking projects and build up a strong portfolio of your work. This can be a great way to demonstrate your skills and talent to potential employers.

Prepare for interviews and be ready to answer questions about why you want to work in film, what experience you have, and what you can bring to the table. If you have any close friends, ask if they can help you prepare for the interview with a mock interview or something.

Get involved with your local film community and sign up for internships. They're more likely to provide work opportunities for those with little to no experience.

I was a PA before and all I can say is to know the right people in the industry. You can do it if you put yourself in situations where you can succeed. Ask around.

I suggest you start making connecting with people in the industry. You'll make it even without any experience. Best of luck!

I have recruiters from mid-level firms reaching out to me pretty regularly for tax manager roles, but I honestly don’t feel like I am ready to be a manager. I don’t want to be in a situation where I am unable to deliver. So my question is what does it take to be a tax manager at a mid-level firm? What experience and temperament do you need? Is it normal to not feel ready? I’ve worked 2.5 yr at a regional firm, made it to senior, now been in industry for almost 2.5 yr as a tax analyst.
