Has anyone tried getting out of their lease and been successful? I’ve been isolating out of the city for 3mo and will be here at least another 3mo, if not more. I live in one of those large/newer buildings managed by Greystar Properties as opposed to a townhouse. Any successful angles/negotiation tactics/DC laws that worked in your favor (relative to the public health crisis/pandemic) would be greatly appreciated. For context, lease technically ends Dec 9, but am looking to get out before then

“Can we make the drizzle a little more luscious?”

My issue is less with the fact that the word “luscious” is pretty binary. The drizzle is either luscious or it isn’t. My issue is the “a little more” part. So, it’s luscious right now. We want it MORE luscious—but definitely not a lot more, just a little. Otherwise it would be TOO luscious. Can’t have that.

Everytime I work on the weekend I get into some sort of fight with my spouse. Anyone else get annoyed when their spouse constantly asks you when you’ll be done working, or asks how much longer you have to work. It annoys the hell out of me. I don’t want be working on a Sunday anymore than my spouse wants me to be working. But I have to. I don’t need reminded that I am disappointing my family in addition to working on the weekend. Am I alone in thinking this? Am I wrong to get so annoyed?

I have been getting calls from someone who introduces herself as an employee in my company from US office. She tells me she is visiting India for a meeting and her outlook is not working here, so she asks me to share contact numbers of some of senior partners in other teams. I am confused on what to do? I have been avoiding her calls since past few days. She told me she got my number by mistake as she asked for a contact from transport team in the same name.

Bain & Company Any advice on how to increase my chances of getting a full time offer after my intership? I start in two months. Recruiters told me more than 90% of interns get confirmed, so how do I make sure I don’t end up in the 10% that doesn’t?

I am a third-year associate at a LA lit boutique. I am currently on bereavement and it has been a week. How long is too long to be on bereavement until my firm is like uhhh, you coming back now or...?

I am left with one week of notice period. Got selected in three companies last week (confirmed by HR and asked same amount in all based on offer i am holding) but none of them are not releasing offer maybe because they don't want me to join some other company based on the offer. How to deal with this and ask for better package?
