Suggestions on someone that can fix a ceiling fan? How much should it cost?

Same question for someone who can install a sink shpritzer?

Got all these odds and ends jobs that I don't know where to go and don't have the energy to figure out how to do myself.

Ask your super or if you have a friend that is cool with their super. They usually do side jobs and can be trusted to do a semi ok job

Super said he can't do it and said he would uninstall it (and I'm guessing keep it for himself - haven't been the biggest fan of our super, generally not helpful unless it's urgent)

You can buy a basic ceiling fan/light for $120-ish. If you have access to the panel to shit off electricity it is incredibly easy to install on your own

Can I hire you? I already have the ceiling fan but I stopped working randomly one day

neighborhood hardware store often can recommend electrician. depending on building can you use listserv or post on notice board for neighbors’ recommendations?

Asking neighborhood hardware store is a good idea- thank you!

Left NYC for LA 5 years ago, it’s been amazing the laid back lifestyle, less stress and comfortable housing/weather but starting to feel like I’m too isolated and complacent here and ready to move back. Can’t decide if I’d rather be A: Bored but comfortable (LA) or B: Motivated but stressed financially (NY).Any tips on how best to decide? Also, any way to tell if I’m settling for contentment in LA but not reaching my potential or just avoiding stress in NY and letting fear keep me on west coast?

We have been in NYC for a little while with kids (2/4 yo, we are 33 yo) and even if we are financially well-off, it feels like we can’t buy a house for our lives. We are in the legal industry but potentially could work remotely forever.

Anyone found a city they love outside of NYC where buying a house is doable? We love the diversity we can find in NYC (food, international communities). Any recommendations of cities to look at? Not interested in suburbanish settings.
