Why are people so hesitant to hire disabled candidates?

I am a visually impaired practitioner in South Africa, with 7 years of experience, and as soon as recruiters or business owners hear/read that I'm disabled, the conversation gets awkward and I never hear from them again.

I used to really enjoy video games. Now I’m trying to get back into Xbox games after a ten year break and the games feel so complex and confusing! I downloaded COD war zone and literally die every time I land working 30 seconds. Any games people would recommend that are fun and. It overwhelming to pick up?

Newly single and recently moved here to DC. What’re some cool hangout spots or bars in DC or Arlington? Mid 20s if that helps. Thank you!

Sometimes I dislike working in accounting and public for numerous reasons, but when I hear stories of people making minimum wage or making very little with a college degree, i am thankful for my job.

I currently work in Private (GA) Aviation & have for some time (about 12 years) I’m currently making the switch to the Department of Aviation and am unsure if I should ditch my current job (in private) and go full force with the DOA & embrace this new opportunity educationally and gather as much experience as I can or keep both jobs even though I’d be working 80hr weeks.. I love the private world but am really ready to move up. I don’t know what I should do. Any suggestions?

Guy being able to do their own house remodeling / car maintenance, an attractiveness plus or not really? I feel like nowadays no one really cares if you’re good with manual work since you could just hire someone to do it sadly

What are some strategies or tactics you have developed which are very successful in small markets (I'm talking SUPER small)? I feel like I've thrown all my darts and some markets still can't find talent.

Some things I've tried, here in Canada:

- non-profit/employment centers
- indeed headunting
- getting field/hiring managers to post around town
- getting on local FB groups
- local schools if there are any
- physical posters
- newspaper/old media (not great)
