When I was diagnosed, I struggled to find any info out there on adults and workplace etc. Thinking of setting up just a blog space for people’s stories, anonymously. If anyone’s happy to tell their story or an experience that might be useful lmk. Happy to provide a framework of questions so you don’t have to write a think piece... could be how it impacts work, advances your work, learnings from medication, learnings from stress, how you tell people, etc - anything that could help others!
Cannabis
Benadryl.
Meditation (I do mine through an app), especially the sleep ones.
have the same issue, but don't like the idea of taking any drugs to sleep. I try to walk around my neighborhood for 30 minutes to an hour to clear my head. No cellphone no nothing. Just walking. Usually does the trick. If it's particularly bad, I usually accept the fact, and just lay down and hope for the best.
30-40 minutes of cardio every 2nd day keeps my baseline level of anxiety a loooot lower. Suggested by my therapist and makes a world of difference. Eventually just feeling less anxious and more empowered adds up and helps me even at times i miss workouts or whatever
CBD
Melatonin
Invest in a good weighted blanket
Use the insight timer app! It has a lot of free sleep meditations, and I have yet to find one that I listen to until the end because they always put me to sleep. It’s so, so soothing.
Count your blessings
CBD and Headspace app. The app is terrific for day/night. If your anxiety continues.- seek help. You are most important.
Workouts. As much as I feel like I don’t have time for them, they actually give me restful sleep and in the end it’s totally worth the 45m or so (since I typically lost at least a couple hours of sleep the night prior)
read a boring book, which always works well for me
