Anyone else ever feel like a completely inadequate consultant? I'm struggling with performance quality on this project because I just feel dumb and it demotivates me to really strive to improve. Possibly also impacted by burnout because I performed well on other engagements and enjoyed my teams more. Just not sure where to go from here to get where I need to be.

Anyone still get jitters before a call/interview/presentation? How do I get rid of it? Its been this way for many years.
Any advice for a industry-side strategy intern when applying for analyst/associate positions?
BCG 🐠 or anyone else who recently interviewed with BCG - is there a new interview format? If so, can someone please share this format. I saw someone mentioned online test, and math test etc. instead of case studies.
16w pregnant w/ 2nd child and have an interview for a job I want. When should I tell the potential employer? I know it’s illegal to discriminate...but also want to be strategic. Any advice?
How competitive is the mbb and tier 2 consulting industry. Any tips on how to best survive and succeed vs other smart peers?
Did anyone have a dog prior to joining their MBB, and if so, how did you manage the travel?
I’m applying for roles as a software development manager in NYC and both tech and finance companies. I have 15 years experience in tech. Not from the US and only moved here last year. Does anyone know the ballpark salary range?
How hard is it to move to FAANG from a relatively unknown boutique consulting firm? Are there extra leaps compared to MBB or Big 4, or if you get a referral you have similar odds?
Is there an appropriate way to turn down an assignment because it is non-billable? Two of the partners I work for keep asking me to write client bulletins and articles with them, which is great, but now I’m starting to worry about meeting my billable hours requirement.
Hello all, I am at the panel interview for the salesforce PA interview. I would really appreciate the help from the SF folks if they could provide some insights regarding the preparation and what topics/points I should consider for the presentation ?
Is it ok to bill the time that the shareholder explains the project to me? If so, how do you describe when billing?
Struggling to understand how this manager still has a job. 1) zero client interaction 2) doesn't know how to research technical issues 3) misses stuff all the time and I catch their mistakes.
I applied to a posting on Glassdoor. I received an email from the job poster about setting up an interview that would be through Google hangouts. The first red flag was the email looked like spam. Con
Have a phone interview for a digital consultant this Friday. It includes a mini case, does anyone have any experience with what a digital case would be like? Related to digital transformation
for those of you who have gotten multiple offers from MBB, which did you choose and why? Looking back would you have done the same
In case H1B gets denied (I hope that doesn’t happen), what countries have you considered moving to besides Canada. Indian national and pending transfer to MBB if that helps.
Ideas for client gifts this year? Typically has been a nice bottle of wine, but only to the clients I had previously shared drinks with so I knew they were wine drinkers.
Current team is keeping a consultant on for 2 extra weeks to train me. Signed an offer letter yesterday, but could take 3-4 wks before getting through background check. Should I tell my project cont..

Got an interview with BCG DV. Can anyone who works or interviewed there provide some insight into the recruiting process? Or even working there
New to implementations but got stuck managing/doing configurations. I’m not the PM but I deal with engineers and client face almost every. Best book for this type of role besides the Phoenix project?
Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback. I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization. Originally, I viewed this as a great learning opportunity but can't help to think I'm not cut out for this and fear the worst.
Thoughts on accepting multiple offers to mitigate H1B transfer denial? I feel terrible doing it for ethical reasons but I am considering it for practical purposes. Would appreciate honest opinions. TIA!
Horrible headshots coping mechanisms - lay it on me. The firm decided to schedule new headshots at the worst possible time (WFH 15 I’m struggling to get off, none of my suits fit, my hair girl accidentally took my blonde too dark). Proofs came back and they are godawful - the photographer put me in the most awkward positions, so I look uncomfortable AND like an overstuffed sausage. I want to asinine for reshoots but I’m worried he’s going to make the exact same errors.
I have just over 3 years of experience (2.5 as an Analyst and .5 as a software engineer) and all doing .Net coding. I live in the Denver area, and work remote. What salary is everyone getting for that kind of position? I make 97,000 with a 10% profit sharing bonus (up to 10%). I've also only been with my company under 6 months and got a raise when I got my current job. Any thoughts?
Full time and Freelance opportunities. MERGE | Chicago or other offices/remote -Digital Designer -Copywriter (Brand) -Copywriter (Pharma) -Art Director w/social experience It’s a great place to work. PM me your book if interested.
I’d love some help thinking through this. I’m currently renting for $1600 base ($1800 total) and live in the least desirable part of town, and expect it to raise to about $2k/month. I was planning to buy my first property in the city and Airbnb part of it, but it will take me about a year to save up the cash (~$500k starting). Eventual goal is to move more rural but trying to build to FI. I found a property in my ideal dream location for $280k but it needs work, and can’t Airbnb it. Continued
Considering an opportunity as a Business Partner with an analytics group at a cyber security company in the valley. Current Manager at Big4. Would represent a step up in total comp but wondering if it’s viewed as a step backwards in career progression?
My client has an opening that I'm really interested in. But we work with their team (internal audit) It's gonna be awkward either I get the job or not. 😢
Still confused on moving back or not (currently subletting place to someone). What have your experiences been like? Rent worth it even though work still remote?
Can you expense mileage when you take public transportation (costs the same as commuting to office) to client’s site?
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Free and Reduced Lunch, pensions, health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, caring for your neighbor, and PUBLIC EDUCATION. That’s just a small list of things I’m told I should hate because they’re all socialist. I’m not at all sorry to report that I’m FOR all of those things. Call me whatever you want.
I firmly believe it should be a requirement for all administrators (from APs/principals to superintendent) go back into the classroom for 1 year after every 5 years in their current admin job.
What is RSM maternity policy?
For those, who are immigrants, what made you stay in New York? Would be especially interested to hear from those who didn’t come for economical reasons. I am told the excitement about the city wears off 😅 I am European, just came 2 years ago and am still loving it, but also start to wonder if staying in a job I don’t like it’s all worth it (I am on L1 visa, so no way to find a new job). Life in Europe isn’t too bad either.
Do yall keep the timer running when on standby? (I.e. not exactly drafting but waiting for emails or dig pages to come in on closing day)
