Don’t start too fast! I cannot stress this enough. Better to go out too slow than too fast - you can always make up time later if you feel good but you can totally screw yourself by going out too fast. And have fun! Racing is awesome!

Stick to your training plan, but don't panic if you miss one or even two of your long runs. Just be sure you can do 10 miles. If you can do 10, you can do 13.1!

I think you may be setting yourself up for failure if you’re not doing long runs.
Not sure of how much you’ve done, but trust your training and have fun. I’ve done a 1/2 and found it much easier to run that distance on race day versus the monotony of practice. You’ll be pretty pumped up at first so you’ll want to control that to not ruin your pace.
I need a little inspiration to get back out there myself! Have fun and good luck!

Also, do NOT escalate your mileage too fast--even if you feel you can do it. No more than a 10% increase week over week. Trust me...I did that, and it cost me. Was forced to a) miss my race, b) have bilateral foot surgery, and c) take months and months off from running. I finally did run my first half, 18 months later.
Slow and steady if you’re new. Google a good running plan to slowly build your way up. As some of the previous post noted, you can easily get overconfident and injure yourself by pushing too hard. Once you have a good base and your body is prepared, you can feel out your limits. I never ran before training for a half and it was brutal for a bit, but got better over time and what a feeling when you complete it.
One step at a time! You got this!
