Currently double booked, and absolutely livid after a meeting to discuss my allocation and the Partner who keeps promising more and more of my time to his client had the audacity to look at me and tell me with a straight face that I need to learn to say no more.
EVERT TIME I SAY NO YOU OVERRIDE ME AND SAY IT'S NOT THAT MUCH WORK AND WE JUST NEED TO GET IT DONE.
Of course the two men just agreed that I needed to stop being so nice, as there was any kind of way for me to win here
I have a male client who is insufferable. He’s patronizing, rude, and tells my agency how to do their jobs while not having a clue how to do his own. But he thinks he’s an amazing client.
He moved positions during a reorg & has zero experience working with agencies. He doesn’t listen or retain emails and has wildly inaccurate expectations of our partnership. But it’s our 2nd largest account and we can’t lose it.
My blood boils daily at his arrogance and ignorance. (cont’d below)
Hi ladies, need a sanity check on an appropriate gift. My boyfriend and I have been together for going on a year and we spend a lot of time with his family. I love his mom and she’s very patient with my rambunctious dog. Would it be appropriate to send her flowers for Mother’s Day or would that be weird?
Hi all, wrapping up a project at the moment and open for freelance senior/director strategy level projects in May/summer. NYC- based but will travel to LA and SF. Please DM for details. Thank you!
I keep waking up early already anxiously turning over client issues in my mind. Is this a common experience for consultants?
Was just told that the client team I was on doesn’t want me on the team anymore. My boss told me not to worry about it, they are an extremely difficult client, it won’t be on my performance eval etc but I’m pretty distraught about it. Was told all along I was doing good work so it seemed like it came out of nowhere. Should I be worried about damage to my personal brand even if my supervisor (a VP) is telling me not to worry about it? Has this happened to anyone else?
Analyst here! I’ve been working 1:1 with the client for several weeks on workshops, presentations, etc. without any supervision from my team lead, and it’s been great to have more responsibility! But I found out the client sent an email to my team lead last week asking if they can supervise my work. The client didn’t provide a reason why they felt I needed it but this makes me feel bad! I thought I was doing great. Not good for my imposter syndrome :’(
How do you deal with having to manage a project where you've had experience in! How can you face the client and why would the company do such a thing!
If you know your agency’s maternity/ paternity leave policies please post them below. If you don’t know, please ask I’m going to aggregate and publish. It should be public knowledge. (1/2)
I think I just fucked up a job opportunity because interviewing in the pandemic is killing me. Last week a single interview in a round of 4 was scheduled in eastern time, not central like all others (and based on both office location and my location CST would make sense). I missed the interview. We rescheduled for today. I had a last minute client meeting I was presenting & on-camera right before and it ran over. I was 12 minutes late. Luckily I still got 20minutes with the team....
Poll: VCA vintage alhambra single motif necklace in onyx or mother-of-pearl? In yellow gold if that makes a difference.
How closely do they look at your billable hour realization your first year at a firm? Feels like I’m constantly chasing around resource management/partners for client work to fill up my hours.
For those who exited to industry- how long did it take for you to feel like you’re contributing to your team? Between 2020 project planning and learning an industry I feel like I’m being paid to googl
Let’s start a conversation around parental leave - how is it at your firm? Does your firm do enough to support new parents? What changes can we make in our industry to better support working parents? Share your stories and thoughts!
I am updating my resume for the first time since joining consulting. What's a good number of client engagements experience to put on my resume? What's a good format to use? Do you put client names?
I have been 3 years into the industry (straight out of college). I started as a Research Analyst, now as a Portfolio Manager. Same company, an RIA. I would really like to go to a big bank (jpm, citi etc) wealth management brand as a client associate. I have applied through their websites and havent got an answer. What is the best way to get into those roles? It seems this may not be the right way
Baby, baby, baby
When you touch me like this
And when you hold me like that
It was gone with the wind
But it's all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
Then we see what we want to see
All coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it's all coming back to me now
Hi current nooglers! I’m currently a cpa working at EY in the tax line of service. I’m very interested in taking on a role at Google that is on the business side (generic but want to try something new) or in the ESG space, but not necessarily tax related. I have a friend who works at G and put in a referral, I got shot down for 3 roles. 2 finance and one operational. Would love to try and get a shot at an interview. Any insights for roles to apply for and try? G business role interview tips? Thx @
Tax season! What’s the point of Schedule CR for the Illinois tax return? TurboTax put in a credit for state income taxes paid to other states and I got a massive return from Illinois. ????

Is it ever ok to reach out to C-level individuals to chat if I'm interested in their department? Worst case I get ignored?
Is there some kind of an ongoing list available of all the agencies and shops in each city? Looking in NYC in particular, but just curious about what names are out there aside from the obvious.
Explain to me why anyone would become a litigator in big law? The rate pressure is worse (and trending worse every year). It is harder to build a book of business. Promotion to partner is harder at most firms. Actual courtroom experience is rare (assuming you want that). What am I missing?
With what's going on in the world and in our industry, I'm thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a bit of a push to grow our group/individual networks.
hey, Humble request for 11 likes to start DM.
Thinking about accruing status on Hyatt/Hilton now that I’m Titanium for Marriott. Have 600k points that won’t use soon. Main driver is Marriott hotels near client site are terrible and far. Cons?

How much are audit managers making these days at big 4 Companies. I’m in a smaller office (lower cost of living) and trying to gauge the market.
I’m from the south visiting family in Chicago this weekend. Walking the streets and seeing work feels so refreshing and inspiring. Tell me why I shouldn’t convince my husband for us to move here!
