I am thankful for Slalom staff aug for allowing my low functioning self to fly under the radar. I used to be a Big 4 hardo, but COVID fatigue/languishing has me ready to retire. The hardest part of my job is convincing peers that a handful of emails, meetings, and deck updates each day = 40 billable hours/week.
Deloitte fish, what level does someone with 1 YOE B4 MC come in at? Or are experienced hires only at Consultant level?
I was convicted of a DUI 6 years ago and I recently got a job offer. This is more a question for the big companies such as Grant Thorton, Big 4 HR folks....but what is the policy behind DUI's? Could this affect me moving through the hiring process? For context, it was a one time DUI 1st offence misdenanor. I have maintenaced good behavior since that time and payed for my mistake. Thoughts?
Starting in the coming month at a B4 FDD practice. I’ve got a 32 Inch and 27 inch monitor setup (4K/1440P) plus a docking station so the screen space is pretty set, but does anyone have any suggestions for additional WFH office essentials I might need?
Anyone in RSM TMT TAS group? How is the exit opportunity/hours/pay/wlb/turnover? Joined B4 as an A2 in audit last year. Tired of audit hours and the industry I’m currently in. Heard about advisory having better hours but it also depends on the office and client.
Do B4 firms drugs test for exp hires?
If you were in charge of your firm, what would you do to improve staff retention right now?

Big 4 M1 Tax salary in Minnesota? That big 4 transparency doesn't seem to help much. Getting paid less right now and looking to switch to another PA firm.
I am (forcibly) a recruiting volunteer in my group. I heard the lead talk about how MBA students prefer MBBs over B4s because they all want to do strategy consulting instead of (what are we?) consulting. The plan is to invest in rebranding on campus and sell for the benefits of (what are we) consulting as against strategy consulting. I feel this is a lost cause though. So out of curiosity, if all of us could cut it to MBB, would be still choose B4 instead? I can’t imagine someone in an MBA would
How many of y’all are on Zwift? I saw there’s a B4 Peloton challenge/competition going on right now, thinking we should have a B4 Zwift challenge too. Thoughts?
Should I leave as a staff 2? I’m currently working in an international tax department and am extremely unhappy given the long hours/working weekends, general type of work we’re doing, and the team I’m on. I want to move to industry doing literally anything else but I’m scared that I’ll be leaving too early in my big 4 career. I’m coming up on 2 years now and don’t have an accounting background (no one on my team does) and so there’s no motivation to stay on behalf of the CPA. Any advice helps.
Is project leader at BCG same as manager in big 4? I assume it’s different than the traditional path, can someone in BCG explain if this tracks get promoted, what duration and what trajectory vs traditional path? Thanks in advance
At the other big 4 firms - what are the details of the maternity leave benefit? How long does someone have to be employed before qualifying? How long is the leave before labor & how long is the leave after? Thanks!
I am a newly promoted manager (~5months), I'm interviewing for manager at another big 4 (homegrown, so need better comp haha). 1st round was behavioural with a Partner and SM, but final round is with two newly promoted SMs. This doesn't add up. Has anyone had a similar experience? Why would they have more junior people do the final round interview? Thanks in advance!
Upvote if you question how the hell you ended up as an auditor for the Big 4 and whether it was the right move. If you could go back, what would you pursue instead.
🐠 with industry experience: how does the internal networking required to advance compare to that which is required to make partner at a B4? I am really starting to hate firm politics and don’t know if I have what it takes to make it.
B4 layoffs from beginning of pandemic - low performers or last in first out? Wondering for recruiting purposes.

Any Deloitte fish have ideas on what exactly this position is and what pay would be? Trying to understand if this would be a traditional consultant role or if it’s a back office research role.
How much do you tip good old fashioned taxi drivers? This dude is wearing a suit which I appreciate, but he did miss my exit.
Alright let's hear your golden rule: I get to the airport "____" minutes before take off.

Has anyone ever had a herniated disc? I’ve had neck/back pain for awhile and finally got an MRI and that’s my answer... how have you managed it? I’m so young and this job is already taking a toll

I currently work in marketing, but want to get into consulting. Is aspiration a long shot, or is there a chance I can make the switch. I have a background in client facing- revenue generating work.
