Full time WFH wasn’t going to be the norm.

This. It was always going to be hybrid…between two to three days in office.

My god how dare they start going back to pre-covid life. Scandalous
M2, it’s become pretty obvious that a majority of office jobs just… don’t require much in-person time, if any. It’s only micro-managing supervisors and people who want to network that really need it. (Some tasks need close managing, and networking CAN be important, but still)
I was talking to the CFO of a $5B industrial manufacturer company. He prefers everyone to be in the office but is finding they have to offer concessions for a few days a week WFH. Candidates are turning down job offers when they require all on-site and they can’t hire anyone.
Did you ask why do these CSuites/higher-level management always prefer people to go in person?
Can’t wait to be back in the office personally.

We need a new variant
Doubt it. People are demanding flexible work and getting it. In my opinion any company trying to stick to 100% in-office work will have a hard time getting/retaining talent for a while and then they’ll budge!
Human memory is fickle, we will back to old ways pretty quickly
It'll be role and manager dependent. I doubt there'd be any change for myself tbh, maybe some more team happy hours.
I only go in when I have coffee, drinks, happy hour type situations now haha
Quit! That will show them!!

I’m just very glad my role is permanently remote. Love sales
Any recommendations in getting into sales or determining if sales is something that might work for me? Really social and outgoing, currently an EPM at Apple in cybersecurity and enjoying it. Always have thought about sales tbh, but don’t even know where to look/start personally.
Is google one of the most progressive companies? How so?

Manager already said he doesn’t care what we do, just make sure we hit our marks and it’s not going to be a factor for us.
Didn’t Google once upon a time announced to allow worker go full time remote or am i mixing that up with another FAANG?
Most Tech companies are allowing folks to go either:
1) Full time remote with comp adjusted to location
2) Flexible work from home, with as many days home as you want, but with ability to ask you to work in office when needed
During the pandemic most folks are just working from wherever they want, but don’t want to apply for full time remote, so many tech companies are “requiring” folks to come in to go and force folks to make a choice.
No absolute answer. Perspectives and preferences abound. I for one like the T-Th in person approach as first choice and M-Th in person as the alternate if I had to. That being said, I don’t have to deal with trains or two hour commutes in traffic so I certainly empathize with the feelings of those who do and have zero desire to sit through 2 or 3 hours of commute every day.
