Pre-pandemic, what would you say is a fair advisory associate starting salary in the Big 4 for an experienced hire (masters, non-CPA, 2-3 years of progressive non-big 4 experience) in the midwest coming in at the associate level?

Currently a tax manager at big 4. Been a manager in my specialty area for 2.5 years and was not promoted. I can move now to a reputable mid tier firm as a senior manager with a sizable pay bump now.

Considering 2 different offers. 1. Traditional agency strategy lead role focused on one major client. 2. Strategy manager for big 4 consulting firm. Tons of clients and travel. What do you think?

Why would anyone work in consulting especially big 4 when tech companies pay so much more? Almost equal base salary with massive RSUs and stock appreciation and WAY BETTER work life balance. Just a thought!

To the people who don’t want to forgive student loans, but do believe in funding welfare programs (specifically the ones that only low income people have access to.. not funding for schools/ libraries), why is it that you don’t believe in helping people who exhausted every opportunity to get an education and attempt to be a productive member of society, but you do believe in helping the other people? So I learned today that my old CEO wanted to fire me while I was on maternity leave because "she isn't bringing in revenue and she's costing money." And he said I took "extra time" even though there was no actual policy, so they told me to take at least 12 weeks AND the COO approved it herself without issue. I want to text everyone who still works there and put CEO on blast. Someone tell me not to.
