I’ve been to this distillery it’s a great place! Highly recommend to those visiting NH, their whiskey is good but their honey gin is particularly noteworthy
Not sustainability because they are just adding flavor to an existing whiskey, like apple flavoring to JD or Crown.
That being said, I would still try it.

To me it’s mostly a marketing gimmick though I’d try it if I was in the area for the novelty factor. American whiskey is a very crowded market and since most buyers are not connoisseurs, it’s shouldn’t be surprising to see differentiation tricks like this to stand out. We probably wouldn’t even have been talking about them in this bowl if not for the crabs, so the relatively cheap cost to do this is certainly paying off in marketing results.
