My bad. Got that mix up.

Day to day is very different, since projects have different phases.

Big picture you are doing consulting for clients, help improve their tax process by automation and software implementation.

It pays better than core tax because it’s under STS.

M&a tax, I switched over from awm after 9/15 and it was pretty nice not having to worry about the 10/15 deadline

I didn’t have much luck moving firms to get into m&a either. I think your best bet would be to try and transfer or rotate into the transaction based group at bdo and get some experience first.

I recently worked with a recruiter from Robert Half for a position they contacted me about but I ended up not getting an offer. Recruiter mentioned that if I am interested in other job listings they can help me get more information, etc. My question for you all, what are the pros/cons of getting them involved with getting more info about listings I see? The experience I had with RH was mostly positive. I think the negatives were with the company and not RH.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I'm coming to the end of a contract term and being converted to FTE.

The offer was presented to me by the hiring manager and not HR/Recruiter. To me it is a lower base salary offer than expected, so I asked for info on the total compensation package (base, benefits, bonus, stock/rsu, etc.), which I was told about when they took me on under the contract with the intention to convert.

Hiring manager sends me an email with only standard benefits, no bonus, etc. Are these red flags?

How often do you get asked to do something that feels off.

Today, I was asked to share my personal info for SS4 processing (the rest of the team does not have a US SSN) and impersonate me to process them faster (batches of 20s are coming in).

I told the Senior Manager that this is past my comfort level to share all these personal info and have people impersonate me - his response, your prerogative, but it is standard practice in the industry and big4.

Had a phone call about my chargeable hours today. Was told to make sure we charge all hours to the client and the partner will decide what to write off.
