Hello, I applied for a controller job and they are considering me. I am currently a senior 3 but jumped firm and took a lower level to get in big 4. I think I can do the job but am freaking out now lol 😂. I am a CPA, I also have an MBA and a CFA , not that the MBA and CFA are relevant. I need help , how hard is the controller work?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice with regards to my next career step. Currently in audit and I have opportunities to go for a Valuations role or an FDD role (both big 4). What are the pros and cons of each? (hours and learning opps, not concerned about salary) Not looking to work long term in both and would likely want to transition into an FP&A role in the future. Hoping to jump directly but require modelling experience.

I've an offer from a company (Big 4), and serving notice period in current company (Again Big 4). In the meanwhile if I apply to other companies, is it a good thing to tell them that I've a offer in hand? So that they can expedite the process and may incline more to provide an offer thinking that I already have one (so one company thinks that good for this money) or is that negative? That company will think why am I looking out even with an offer in hand.

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

How long after bonuses hit should I give my two weeks notice? I have a new job lined up and bonuses will be paid out on Dec. 20th.

I work no less than 10hrs/day and my boss just told me to put 8hrs in my time card for the client to see. Not sure if this is ok. Is this normal? Should I not do that?

I’ve been working as a data analyst for about 5 years, and I’m wanting to switch careers into SE. I recently finished a python course, and I’m unsure of my next steps. Opinions? Management now requiring everyone to have 45 billable hrs per week, not including mandatory concepting n pitch work. Most people participating in 2-3 initiatives at same time. Is this normal

Elderly account woman who wears flip-flops to work, I want to throw my shoe at you.

When I ask my manager for advice about how to do something, he usually just tells me I'll "figure it out yourself." But when it comes down to it, he doesn't help me at all by doing that—he just makes me feel like an idiot. And then when I do figure it out myself and bring the answer back to him, he won't even look at it! He'll just say something like "Oh yeah, thank you," and give me another assignment.

This might be too ambiguous to answer, but I want to get better at taking iniative, but I don't know how. I can be pretty shy in work settings. I do things without being told, but I want to go beyond that like start projects etc. Provide more value.
