After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

I am currently looking to improve my income. I have a Masters and working in the manufacturing industry for the last 10 years. My current income of $73K CAD isn’t enough to take care of my current needs. I have a PMP certification and I’ve been looking into getting into the IT project management. Been interviewing for front end dev - 5YOE. Had been with Deloitte USI as a Consultant back in India. Applying for big 4's and tech firms but seems like they have been taking forever to review the applications (2-3 weeks now for few since applied!)

Have one offer from CGI as Sr.Con for 105k. Does anyone know how good/not good is CGI in terms of work, culture, WLB, perks?

Need advice on buying my first home. I recently moved to Canada and like living in downtown city vibes. I’m looking for a 2Bed and really confused if putting all my savings and 60% of salary towards mortgage payments for 1.2M condos is worth it. Does it make sense to buy condos with all those monthly fees and live in city or buy a house around GTA for much less ? Which is better from an appreciation and resale point of view ?
