I’m miserable at my job but want to wait it out until I take an upcoming vacation in July. Is it stupid that I’m not looking for jobs when I’m completely bored, uninspiring and irritated everyday?
I'm on vacation, completely removed for the daily hustle; enjoying my time off. My wife called with an urgent request: she needs help with a deck that's due on Friday.
what actions will big4 take in the foreseeable future? EY will have a performance separation effect on 7/1. What else? Pay cut? Lay off? Or mandatory PTO?
My fiancé’s family has a vacation planned at the end of June in Florida (small beach town about 45 mins from PCB). We’d be flying from California if we decide to attend. His family doesn’t seem concerned (ugh whole other story) and the “rules” in Florida are relatively relaxed now (restaurants open etc). I want to go for sanity reasons, but feel like it seems foolish too. What would y’all do? Just wait and see?
If I'm forced to use my vacation, floater, etc. towards my study leave for CFE but I have vacation booked for right after CFE, will PwC still let me take that vacation as a "leave of absence"?
Every time I walk past Spirit gates, I get really good vibes. People waiting at those gates might not be frequent fliers, but they look so happy. Thats what vacation does to people i guess
Can anyone at Deloitte message me the PTO code. I’ve been here for a three months and feel wired to finally ask for it (and not sooner).
How long is acceptable to push a start date back? I need some time off between opportunities to refresh
EY - ladies, what to wear to the holiday party?!
What is the EY FSO-Finance Transformation practice like - does anyone have insight? Also, EY in general - benefits/culture/upper management? I heard about the flexible vacation, how does that work exactly?
Any moms here living in WA state and availed the 12 weeks parental leave( baby bonding time off) offered by the state recently?
Trying to find awards show categories for a globally activated branded holiday. Any thoughts greatly appreciated :)
Given the state of the world, are you keeping your vacations in tact that you planned way in advance? In the event that this is over, is it irresponsible to take a vacation?
BDO PTO Upon Leaving: Does BDO compensate you for your unused PTO when you quit? I'm in Georgia and it isn't required by state law, but I wasn't sure if there was a firm-wide rule in place.
Going for a PAM interview. Most of my PAM experience is with deploying for user accounts. They’re looking for Hashicorp/Conjur experience. Anybody have any advice?
Was supposed to find out about a job by end of day today. Just got a calendar invite for 15 minutes to chat tomorrow instead. Also saw someone who I didn’t interview with (but could be a collaborator) who had looked at my linkedin a few weeks ago before one of my interviews looked at it again a few hours ago. Are these good signs or am I gonna cry of despair and burnout tomorrow?
It’s well known that the difference in work culture in Europe vs US is quite different. Can you comment on some of the differences when it comes to work/life balance, competitiveness, client dynamics
Is this accurate: Final interviews are mostly about the personality and culture fit test more than technical skills test?
How often does your billable time get written off? Does it affect your hours vis-a-vis meeting yearly requirements and bonus? Tips for minimizing write offs and partners who ask you not to bill time?
I had a final interview last Thursday and was told I would hear back Monday or early this week. I still haven’t heard anything, how long should I wait until following up with the recruiter?
Anyone at MBB willing to refer? 7+ YOE (4 @ B4), focusing on CX & EX full-cycle projects from strategy to tech implementation to improvement with a JD/MBA.
Thoughts on giving 2 weeks notice without an offer lined up? I m physically and emotionally burnt out and the team dynamic on my current project is toxic. How long would it take to find another role
What if the entire consultant and analyst pool goes on a strike and asks for a Conalyst Union with a lot of reasonable demands in a company like Accenture? Is this scenario even possible?
How valuable is having a B4 name on the resume? Currently at a boutique and have the option to join B4 (not KPMG) or industry. Industry would pay more for the first couple years. Wondering if B4 would be the better option for the long run
Live interview with the chief diversity and inclusion officer at Yum Brand tonight - check us out!
AlixPartners fish, I am expecting an offer for SVP in the digital practice. I need to give them my comp expectation today. Currently M at B4 with 15 yrs in industry and 2 yrs in consulting. Flying internationally for a wedding from the US (to Spain). Delta looks like the starting prices are lowest but I’m definitely not going to be cramped in economy. How is Comfort+ international? Does anyone strongly advise against delta & have recommendations for other airlines? Thanks in advance!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! Hoping you all get a much-needed break today and do something for yourself ❤️
I’m on Coinbase & Binance - looking for a 3rd exchange. Anyone have a referral link they want me to use? Looking at Gemini / CEX since the others disabled new users
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
Are people still applying after only 2 years in consulting? Seems common for MBB but I wonder how you built solid recommendations / experience in so little time post-undergrad.
DCA airport. Thank god for my tsa pre-check. I have been diamond for three years. Now I am gold; Other than silver, I feel like a plebian. Thoughts?
Any recommendations on resources/ guides to use on how to become a better interviewee, and how to prepare the right way for interviews? I have a couple of entry level consultant interviews coming up.
I have not heard back from the recruiter after interviews, but hiring manager recommended me for the role. Recruiter said she will get bank on Wednesday, nothing since then. Should I message recruiter or Hiring manager?
