I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent

Personally, I don’t use my points to cover for anything when it’s this kind of a group. I think this just creates a situation where no on feels better about the final outcome.
Pay with $$ and split the costs! Or stay in a cheaper spot
Other people view points as “free,” even though they’re really a currency, so it can be tough to ask people to pay their share. You could try, “I’ll get the hotel, you get meals.” Cash is probably easiest unless it’s something like the super bowl or NYE where you’re getting tremendous value per point
I'd pay cash in this situation. Points are for me, my fiancee, and close friends
Don’t use points. No one would be happy no matter how you split the cost.
Figure out where else you might use the points at, say for another trip, and divide equally since this one seems to be on the high end? Or find another hotel you’d pay cash for on this trip and split that one
If you’re rolling in points and your friends are not ..... figure out what it would be if split evenly, cover your friends’ share, and have the people you aren’t close with pay you for their portion. Have it be assumed by all that everyone is reimbursing you for their own share but quietly sort it out with your close friends.
Figure out the worth of the points for when they reimburse you
This of course is if you can avoid the potential politics around such a move.
Find an Airbnb instead, who wants to share a hotel room with people who you aren't that close with?

Do I ask them to pay me their share of what the equivalent points are worth? Or should I just not offer at all? Hotel otherwise is kinda pricey. What have others done? TIA!!
Yes also agree to just pay cash. Points can get messy, and with cash it’s clear cut what everyone’s responsibility is
What about pay with points at a fancy place but split costs as if you were staying somewhere more budget? Then everyone gets a "free" upgrade on your points. Agreed that Airbnb is probably the best option.
Thanks everyone!! Glad I asked here before offering. Will definitely go the Airbnb route
Don’t use points but book in your name so you get an upgraded room
Tell them you paid cash and ask to split the $
Dont do this if you didnt pay cash. No sense in lying and you are setting yourself up to have people pissed at you if your lie is seen through...or if someone simply asked to see the bill
In some situations like this where I have booked with points I usually do one or two things: 1) usually you being a legit traveler get the best price anyways, so look up what it would cost you at 'your' rate and split that cost accordingly, even if you use points. 2) use a points site to use as your valuation of points - e.g., $0.019 for Marriott. Multiply that out by the points you're spending and charge THAT rate, split accordingly.
Not answering your question, but for that trip I advise the use of the app called Splitwise. It’s really easy to use and it pretty much logs expenses and who owes who what, then at the end you can settle through Venmo. Just took a trip with 16 ppl that I didn’t know that well, and that app saved us so much headache, we just tossed EVERYTHING in there.
