So looking to go from Full Time to contract. 😬 I built in some time off into my hourly rate, along with health-care and retirement. I was offered three different packages with vacation days. 5, 10, 15 and they had a rate difference of 0, -$1.22/hr, -$2.40/hr respectively. Any thoughts or guidance?
Is a firm allowed to only give you 1 month notice before they change their PTO policy - they went from 6 weeks PTO and carry over allowed to now starting in January it will be unlimited and obviously carry over would be meaningless. People had saved multiple weeks and didn’t take off in 2021 so they could take that extended time off - they are mentioning that “oh it’s discretionary now so you can take all you want” but I feel like we’re getting cheated and they should have to pay us out balance
Client email just came in on this holiday weekend. Nothing urgent but they do want a deliverable. Targeting closing late next week. Reasonable to wait until Monday/Tuesday or would you run back home to your computer and mess up your plans?
F 🐠 Help, I need a last minute holiday party dress! 5’5/XS for reference. Looking for midi or maxi length.
What do you consider "too far in advance" to book a vacation? Just booked one four months from now but wondering if I should have waited.
I moved to industry and my team is so gossipy/nosy, especially my male manager. Everything gets talked about, even as simple as going on vacation. It’s really getting to me and I’m starting seem contd
EY Parental leave question: how many weeks were you actually out? When I took my leave 3 years ago, I counted total of 21 weeks of leave. That’s including one firm winter holiday week. I remember I initially thought I would be back after 16 weeks, but then in the middle of my time off I got an email from Leave Team with the breakdown and it actually was 21 weeks. Can someone who took leave recently tell me the actual number of weeks?
I had a phone interview before holiday break and the recruiter was going to forward a thank you note for me to the employee I interviewed with. I got distracted and just found out I moved onto the
does EY have significantly more vacation to use than Deloitte? I would get 22 pto plus 3 personal plus 10 family sick leaves at EY. deloitte has only 23? that too it sounds against utilization
Gonna be cashing out my PTO since I’m moving to a new job. That’ll be around 7,500 after taxes. Should I just throw it all in VOO or buy some blue chips? Was looking at MSFT or maybe even V
When traveling for vacation, I often dread telling friends that I’m in town if I’m visiting their city. I don’t want to plan… or have the plan-making process hang over the entire trip.
Does PwC have tomorrow off for an extended holiday weekend? I am waiting on an offer and not sure how the holiday weekend impacts things. PwC
My Toronto peeps how are you handling lockdown a year into it? With work stress at an all time high and no exciting vacation or plans or even vaccine to look forward to I'm really starting to lose it. Seeing how Americans are pretty much back to normal makes it even worse 😩
Why does everyone think that saying they came back from PTO is better than just saying vacation?
What kind of PTO does everyone's firm offer? I get 20 days of PTO plus all federal holidays.
Might be switching agencies before the holidays. Already have flights to take those 6 weekdays off. How do I️ deal with bringing that up in the case that they don’t offer that same time off?
Really struggling today. Consulting is so lonely. Random hookups are fun and plentiful but afterwards, I just get more lonely alone in my hotel room. How does everyone deal with constantly being alone
Project just wrapped (early) and now I’m on the bench between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just exactly how screwed am I trying to find a new gig before Xmas? Same approach as normal? Any tips?

I’m a tech guy so not as knowledgeable about investments, etc. My advisor is trying to convince me to start a term-life insurance policy, to be used for retirement. I’m 26. Is this a good idea?
Hello! HR Business Partner looking to pivot into Human Capital, any advice/best practices? I have almost seven years of experience, Masters in HRM,SHRM certified and previously worked at B4 firm.... No consulting experience so seeking advice on how to break into HC consulting. Thanks!

Is wearing a luxury piece as an associate acceptable? My family essentially passed down a lot of assets/investments to me after graduating university so I essentially have an 8 figure net worth as a associate auditor 1 at a big 4. I’m looking at getting something like a Urwerk/RM, or a Patel 5711 Nautilus, but I’m very afraid it would look bad for me at work. Any advice is appreciated.
When a recruiter reaches out with an opportunity and asks you to send your salary range if you’re interested, do you send it in the initial reply? Or is there a tactful way to get more info first?
