Taking our firm’s inclusiveness training. That single mom story by Josephine really resonated as a new mom feeling like the hours in the day to spend with my daughter are so limited. When are we going to solve this as a firm? The lifestyle thing is a real issue for working parents, and esp moms. The story was great, but what are we going to do about it? It is absolutely a retention and talent concern too.

McKinsey is never going to solve that problem, and all other client service businesses who are excellent at what they do will also struggle. Sure, you can tailor at the margins (flexible hours! benefits! female mentorship!) but you can’t add hours to the day.

The reality is that clients pay a premium for the speed, rigor, and seamlessness of our work. You often can’t expand a core working team or grow the length of the project by 30% and have the same client outcomes.

(I’m a mom-to-be myself, seriously considering how long I want to do this gig.)

As a new mom, sad but agree fully.

I honestly feel this is such a short amount of time they could do something pretty low cost to fix it. Like full pay for a year with the first x months off and then the rest at 80% effort.

I remember at 1yo the switch from “there’s not enough time!” to “when is bedtim?” 😂

Instead of slapping each other with this hitpiece or that yellow journalism, let's change things up a bit.

What is a policy you would want to see implemented? And why?

Let's keep this civil and leave the political talking points on the wayside.

Product Design Engineer, interviewing at Apple (Cupertino) and at Meta (Seattle/Redmond). Not at the offer stage yet, but I'm contemplating where I would relocate with family.
No idea about team/culture/stability differences yet.

The non-work factors I'm debating are:
1. Cost-of-living (housing!). Could probably afford a nice ~$1.25M SFH in Seattle suburbs sooner than a fair $1.5-2M near Cupertino.
2. Public School quality. Unsure private will be affordable.
3. Weather/region: activities

I need help. Okay. So I recently lost my job in December and I have been applying for work since and haven’t been successful. I have gone through some 4 round interviews and met with nicely written rejection letters.

Im 26, and have five years of experience in social media/content creation and PhD in marketing. I have been using LinkedIn and indeed for applying.

Does anyone or your network know of jobs looking to hire for remote marketing, social media or content marketing related roles?

Hi everyone!

After years of hard work, I just got my first position in a leadership role! Yay! I’ll be leading a team of 12.
I wanted to know if you had any tips for me, things you wish you knew before, or things previous leaders did for/to you that you found admirable or stayed with you. I want to make sure I’m there for them and want to be a leader they will remember positively.

Thank you so much!!
