A one-year old is probably okay with a high chair, especially if they are starting to feed themselves.
Good luck with shoplifting the pootie.

I’d just ask your friend if the baby sits in a high chair and if so, I’d ask for one when you get to the restaurant. You can say “two and a high chair.”

Yeah, this. You’re overthinking it.
I would never expect my friend without kids (or heck, even with…) to prep the table in advance. You’re a great friend, but don’t sweat it. Mom will walk in and tell them they need to bring a high chair (if they don’t proactively ask once they see her with baby in tow).

Lol SM1 I’m a F 🐠
And what does that mean? We don't discriminate
When you ask the hostess for your table, just say you have 2 and a baby. She’ll get you a high chair. I worked as a restaurant hostess for 5 years and we had high chairs and then a holder for rear facing car seats, but I imagine a one year old would be out of that. Obviously the mom can leave the baby in the stroller if she wants to :)
It depends on whether the kid likes mimosas.

Do you HAVE to bring the kid?

@OP You're a thoughtful friend. I took my friend to lunch a few weeks ago and I requested a high chair before she got there because I knew that she was coming with her baby. The baby didn't want the high chair nor the stroller. It was fun chasing him around the restaurant. 😂

Yes, I’d ask for a high chair
