Depends on the company some take months to hire. If you were targeting google for instance you’d already be late in applying

like

Google is notorious for being on the slower side. If you submitted an app today. Assuming they think you’re qualified enough you’ll get an email saying you may hear from a recruiter in the next 8 weeks. That would be June 1 and then you still have to do the whole interview process. I wouldn’t expect an offer before fall.

My longest period from submission of the application to offer was actually 11 months but that was at Meta who usually isn’t that slow. It just depends on how hard they are prioritizing a role and a bunch of internal factors/red tape.

Generally in-house takes months and if you were looking to be in a new job by end of summer I’d start applying ASAP.

Start applying as soon as you are ready, because your search could take longer than you think. Just let potential employers know your date of availability. (It’s usually one of the first questions asked on online applications.) There are exceptions, of course, but most places will wait a few months for the right candidate to start.

I’m interviewing for jobs that would essentially lead to a minor career pivot. I have gotten to 4 straight final rounds (4-5 interviews and a presentation for each company) to be told I’m second choice in favor of someone with more experience. I’m losing my mind and so tired of interviewing tbh. What can I do differently, or do I just need to chill out and wait for a company to say yes?

From my experience it seems like typically you will hear something within 10-14 days of applying but that depends on which month you apply.

This would be my 3rd, but need some input. I am 10 dpo (guess) and I just wiped some reddish brown discharge. It’s like mucus/veiny consistency. I have had cramping pain yesterday and today. I’ve never had implantation bleeding, but could this be that? Baby dust please. I'm considering pivoting to copywriting because that's the part of my role I'm best at -- a lot of the account management stuff is draining, but I can whip out social and marketing copy quickly & I enjoy it. Wondering if anyone has insight / leads on making the jump from accounts to the copy side when applying for jobs? 5 YOE, 3 in-agency with a mix of automotive and pharma + a side gig as a published author with muliple books (hoping that'll help on the creative / copy end?) Thank you!

- Flowers. No flowers for men, only the groom is getting a boutonnière. No flowers for parents/grandparents.

I have only ever worked in a very small firm where my immediate boss was the senior most partner, with no depts like IT or HR. We just figured it all out together. I’m moving to a corporation that has the typical corporate hierarchy, HR department, IT department, etc. I feel like such a n00b, as if it’s my first job in terms of how to navigate the corporate structure and chain of command. What are some general tips to follow in the corporate environment or any resources I can read to prepare?

Anyone have any idea what inhouse prospects would look like for a 2nd or 3rd year ECVC attorney from a top ECVC biglaw shop in Asia? Open to roles within Asia! I desperately want to leave biglaw but I have no idea what kind of places would want my background, it seems like all the ads I see are for IP/tech trans attorneys.

Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?
