Depends on the company some take months to hire. If you were targeting google for instance you’d already be late in applying

like

Google is notorious for being on the slower side. If you submitted an app today. Assuming they think you’re qualified enough you’ll get an email saying you may hear from a recruiter in the next 8 weeks. That would be June 1 and then you still have to do the whole interview process. I wouldn’t expect an offer before fall.

My longest period from submission of the application to offer was actually 11 months but that was at Meta who usually isn’t that slow. It just depends on how hard they are prioritizing a role and a bunch of internal factors/red tape.

Generally in-house takes months and if you were looking to be in a new job by end of summer I’d start applying ASAP.

like

Start applying as soon as you are ready, because your search could take longer than you think. Just let potential employers know your date of availability. (It’s usually one of the first questions asked on online applications.) There are exceptions, of course, but most places will wait a few months for the right candidate to start.

I joined

I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?

As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

Should I update my LinkedIn to say Salesforce Admin? I’ve been certified since October, so I have the role in my headline, but I’m thinking it’s time to update it in my work experience. I have been transitioned to work on only Salesforce related items with the company’s Salesforce Admin. When I asked my boss about a title change, however, they said that it’s doable but want to wait until performance reviews so they can couple it with a pay increase. As nice as this sounds I feel like It’s BS.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

I am currently in ID and wanting a miracle in-house position. I recently learned that the VP of Lit for an ins. carrier was promoted leaving her position open. I’m unsure if they’re planning to fill that vacant role. I’d like to approach her about my general interest of going in house (asking her how she did it herself) and mention my interest with her company. I know this is a sensitive topic as she gives me cases. I have a great professional and personal rapport with her. Any tips?

What would be a typical salary for a junior in house counsel role (3 yoe) at a publicly traded company in a secondary market (think Austin, Tampa, Charlotte)? I’m having a really hard time finding what a reasonable range would be. Most positions I’m applying to require desired salary in the application, and the truth is I’d accept anything north of 125k but don’t want to undersell myself and take a bigger cut than necessary coming from biglaw.

Considering joining a small 50-person company as the only attorney (prior attorney is retiring). (I am currently in-house at a F50). For others who have done the same path, what surprises did you have when moving from a large company to a small one?

For example, it sounds like I should not expect a document management system, based on a prior post in this bowl. I’m guessing expenses like state bar fees and cell phone are not reimbursed.

Any advice on things to expect (or not expect)?

I don't know if this is the imposter syndrome talking, but as in house, I feel like I rarely *do* anything. I answer questions as they come up, review maybe 1-2 contracts a day, and manage a few litigation cases (primarily handled by outside counsel). Compared to my 300+ emails from clients a day that I would receive from my large firm job, I feel like I'm missing something? I'm the only attorney at my small company. I don't know if the workload at my previous firm skewed my perception.
