Talked to a friend of mine: 625K production last year on 74MM in assets. Never doorknocked or networked, and made 150 calls dailt until his 4th year. Now just gains clients through referrals.

150 each day is quite a bit. When I was at Jones I did 100 dials 17 straight days and was so burnt out that I sat on the internet for about a week straight.

It's been said many times but almost all of the problems we face can be attributed to the lack of contact with enough prospects.

I’ve never really understood where people are getting these 150 numbers a day to dial... unless it’s a generic list with 2000 names on it.

like

Did you get anything from those 17 days

I have had some luck with this because when people see a bank calling them they think it's their own bank and get worried and pick up

@NYL OP - I’m 5 years in, never a cold call - have to find your niche within your GO. Are you heading to Las Vegas?

Most of the people I know built their business on 300+ dials a day as did I. It can be done. There are tons of lists or business directories to call. We also called all over the country, so even though I am in ny I have clients in California etc.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
