Proud of you! It’s unfortunate there’s so much stigma around seeing a therapist, we should consider it the equivalent of seeing a physical trainer but for the brain instead of the body. :) License is less important to me than their specialty, client reviews, and how our first meeting goes. Be willing to test a few out if tomorrow is not a good fit, and hope you have much success.

Scheduling the appointment is a big first step! I think you'll know if your therapist is the right fit if you feel like you can comfortably share what's on your mind and the therapist listens, reacts, and asks you thoughtful but non judgmental questions back. Go with your gut, I started therapy almost a year ago and it's led to some really helpful realizations and choices that turned out really well for me.

Good for you! I hope it goes well 💗 I consider my connection with the therapist/counselor, If I am able to speak confidently, and how they respond/react more than their qulifications at first. I’m sure they would be open to discussing this question tomorrow if you want to ask!
Thank you D2! I didn’t think about it until a friend brought it up and since I’m already a bit nervous I started overthinking it. I will just see how the first meeting with her goes tomorrow!
My therapist had the same license. Just feel your way through it and see if they mesh with you
