I think visible tattoos in a professional setting are inappropriate. Call me old fashioned I guess
Omg that thread was annoying! People are so judgmental. I have a couple tattoos and one is on my lower arm. I keep it covered at work but during the summer if I’m at a happy hour I’ll ditch my cardigan. Unless you have something obscene or offensive tattooed on you and you work hard, it doesn’t matter.
I know my opinion is "wrong", but if u have viable tattoos in a professional environment, I'm judging you
Idk how anyone could think having a tattoo in a professional environment is ok. Truly don’t know
If you scroll down long enough, you will see a post about with lots of opinions.
How is anything on you going to affect the work that you're going to do? (Unless you have anything offensive) People need to be more open-minded..
I got hired with a nose piercing and a visible tattoo 🤷♀️
I agree EY 2
Totally agree with having to cover them. I cover my own. But don’t judge people just because they have them.
I would stop associating with them entirely. Just kidding. I'm actually personally pretty opposed to myself ever having a tattoo and I dont think they look professional, but at the same time if someone with a tattoo does.a better job than someone without a tattoo, I'll pick the tattoo'd person 10/10 times. Quality of work trumps just about everything.
I also feel looked down on because of my tattoo on my lower back. I try and keep it covered but sometimes people see it when I bend over. I feel like people think differently about me after they see it. I got it way back when. How was I suppose to know that lower back tattoos for men were a fad and would soon become more suitable for loose women?

Just joined fishbowl not that long ago and didn’t know. Thank you!
Unclench EY1. Never said anything about there being different opinions. That’s entirely fine. The annoying part of that thread was the people said they would keep people with tattoos off of their projects. THAT is a problem. Not liking tattoos is completely fine. It’s not for everyone. I respect that. Shit my mom hates that I have any and I’m not mad at her for that. But judging people on their appearance and keeping them from work or new opportunities is dumb.
Those who disagree with them in a professional setting. How do you feel about them outside of? For example, if you were to run into a coworker outside of work, and you didn’t know they had tattoos, and they were visible when you ran into them. Would your perception/opinion change of them?
I don’t care what you do or how you look on your personal time. You do you. But in a professional setting, cover your tattoos
