Tax accountants pls help! If I took out a loan to pay for my school, does the loan amount go towards qualified tuition expenses?

What you physically paid to the school goes to qualified tuition expenses - should be able to get the form from your school.

Tuition, books, room, and board . You can figure it out and use that. If you received scholarship money that will need to be deducted.
