What’s the interview process for Counsel roles?

It has been 2+ weeks since I completed the Interview & Psychometric Assessment rounds with Macquarie Group , but yet to hear anything from them. I also followed up with HR but with no response. For the record, the interview went well. Any idea if they usually take this amount of time to get back? If I got rejected, why not communicate directly?

Im a new starter in FDD as a Senior, qualified and am sitting for CFA L2. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right to maximise my chances of landing a FO role in a PE/Fund or ER/M&A role at an BB/EB.
A few I've heard so far:
- Get infra deals exp
- Network aggressively
- Leave within 1 yr
JPMorgan Chase Morgan Stanley Goldman Sachs Citi Bank of America Barclays Credit Suisse RBC KKR Blackstone TPG Apollo Global Management, LLC Bain Capital Warburg Pincus

I would be patient and continue to explore internally first. M&A is hard to DH t now with the slowdown and firms aren’t likely to take on someone externally that isn’t already experienced in M&A
Apply through open roles. Best to have someone at the company vouch for you though.
Definitely can get competitive internally but m&a is busy and growing fast. If you’re patient enough, it should work out. Reach out to someone on in m&a, you could probably start in partnerships (sub k).
What level? The problem atm is a lot of places hired very aggressively and now the market is a bit frozen so a lot of places probably aren’t looking for associates.
Above senior the transition is always difficult as the experience just doesn’t line up
