home. i can work without pants on.

I'm more productive at home, but I don't have a family and I have a home office with two large screens

like

Home. Nobody bugging me about their weekend, nobody asking me to explain random things, no time wasted on dressing up and commuting, just nice and quiet, I can just get in the zone and listen to music as I get it all done. Problem is, it doesn't "look good" to work from home more than a couple times a month so I go to the office and be less productive just for appearances sake.

like

Home. Get so much more work done and it saves me between 2-3 hours each day between getting ready and the commute to the office

like

The only reason I go in is to keep up appearances 🙄 such a huge waste of time

like

Home. I have a nice dual monitor set-up and get interrupted about nonwork stuff wayyyyy less.

like

Office - takes my computer 4x as long to process at home

like

Office. I like having 3 screens and there are less distractions.

like

Home. Hands down. I always get distracted in the office with this new workplace of the future setup. Too many people talking around me. Office lights are WAY too bright. I'm planning on working from home on Fridays after busy season. People will complain, but idgaf anymore. Commute is also a factor. My line of thinking is as long as the work gets done, who cares where you work? Just come in enough during busy season to have the right amount of face time and leave it at that.

like

I feel like I'm more productive at work. Home is filled with too many distractions, plus I don't have a good setup yhere

like

Office. Less distractions and luxury of 3-4 screens and a riser.

like

Home

like

Office unless I have a shit ton of calls. More productive at the office 👍

like

Office. I like the mixture of social interaction, some nice, some awkward, endless snacks after 4 and my 3 screens...

like

^fair enough I shouldn't ask such a question during busy season

Today I finally took the day off for my mental health. This year, I lost my childhood dog of 16 years, am planning my wedding in the time of corona, and dealing with an emotional/verbally abusive parent. Was traveling coast to coast weekly before quarantine set in and never took time to grieve or process things. And since WFH it’s been 60 hour weeks and some weekends working. Today after some hurtful comments from my dad, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Glad I took this day to reset.

I work on a small 4 person remote team- 2 peers and our manager. My 2 peers were recently hired and started in February this year. I actually trained them since I have held that position (Manager). I have been at the company for 6 years and moved to a Sr. IC role. My skip-level was previously my direct manager. My manager told us about a plan to meet up in person this summer for team building. It slipped in a meeting today that everyone but me is included in going. More in comments.

I’m a newer registered nurse (2 years) and want to get into remote work. I keep getting denied due to lack of experience but to even get the job I have now (case manager) the company knew one of my family members and they gave me a chance to interview because of that. For these remote companies where I don’t have connections how can I transition over?

I'm searching for an EA opportunity either in the LA area or remote. I'm open to working on site, hybrid, or remote and open to most industries. I've been interviewing the past 3 months after a company-wide lay off and haven't landed anything yet within my salary range or that feels like a good fit for me. Message or comment if you have any leads for me - I so appreciate it!

If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start?
