Been with an Asphalt and Concrete contractor in suburban Chicagoland for a little over 2 years now, and am going into a compensation discussion tomorrow after informing my boss I no longer wish to be on a draw.

Current comp plan is as follows:
Salary- ~48k w/ draw up to about 80k, full OTE with commissions should be ~170000, this is all increased by kickers every 250k in sales that increase commission/draw

My questions is if the draw is removed, how much salary should I be asking for?

What is the standard yearly hike in IT Security industry in North America? I have worked for 7 months in a company in Canada, and I got a yearly hike of just 3% in my first appraisal cycle. My manager says that you get 3% when you are meeting expectations but not going above and beyond. Is this the standard or am I being underpaid? I’m using Index Match to populate cells with a message if an account number has a certain name assigned to it, but there are multiple instances of the same account number in the reference worksheet with different names, so if the first instance of the account number doesn’t have the applicable name, then the Index Match formula won’t provide the desired message.
