Hello! I’m based in NYC and looking for my next role. I work in the digital strategy/brand strategy space. I have experience across multiple industries (tech/telecom/Pharma (dermatology)/beauty and skin care and I am looking for a Director or VP role (my last job was a VP). I would like to keep my base of at least $180k (is this reasonable if I look for Director positions too?) Would love to land something soon before we hit the holiday season. Do you think what I am looking for is reasonable?

What is the most amount of times you have Applied to one specific company? It could be different job titles and different states but how many times have you applied to the same company? Sodexo , levy, compass group, Hyatt Hilton Marriott have Applied to all those 30 or 40 times over the past three years. Talk about insanity. I stopped applying six months ago I’m no longer wasting my time with people like this!

Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. I also help cover HR tasks, have my SHRM, 5 years of HR exp., and 2 degrees. Is the "value" for recruiters more than L&D? I feel a little taken advantage of, but want to know if I'm off base here.

If you let a student redo an assignment to correct the answers they got wrong, do you update the grade to the highest grade (presuming they got more answers correct) or do you average the new grade with the previous grade? Curious on your thoughts.
I’ve used Remind to communicate with parents but am thinking of switching next school year to Classtagme or Seesaw. What are your thoughts? Do you know of something better?

So this seems absolutely ghastly. Numerous schools in Illinois, in apparent violation of state law, are using police to issue monetary fines to students for various misbehaviors, with the threat of “adult consequences” for failure to pay. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

We just had our December faculty meeting yesterday. We donate a toy and get a raffle ticket. Things that are raffled off are admin parking spots for a day, no lunch duty for a day, dress down for a day. We all look forward to this meeting every year.
My favorite is handwritten notes showing appreciation for a specific act they witnessed or what I add to our team.
I received such a note last Christmas and I cherish it.
Incentives we’ve had: 100 extra copies, Jean days, no duty day, admin teaching class for a half hour.
Every month on the big copier we get 1000. On a smaller copier another 500. If I go to our media center about 10 min away, I can get 2500 per semester. My issue is that I have a class that doesn’t have a text. I take pieces from everywhere to make the curriculum. 30 kids and a copy for the inclusion teacher adds up.
