Need to vent. The team I’m on has spent months and months on finetuning a new program. We are SO PROUD of it. My boss tells us what a great job we did, etc. He presents the final product to upper management and….in our company newsletter this week, uppers thank OUR BOSS on allllll the great work he did, his stellar idea, etc. No mention of anyone else on the team. Now I’m hearing all these great things about my boss and being asked if I got to work on his program. HIS program. (ctd in comments)
Remember that the job that is right for you is going to come along soon and remind yourself of all of the reasons that you're good at what you do and deserve a job. I went through countless interviews and rejections before one finally worked out, and it really was for the better. Most importantly make sure you're taking care of yourself and taking the time to reset so you don't get burnt out from the search.
Thank you for your contribution. That is encouraging.
It only takes one YES! You got this!
Someone once told me a story of a guy who has the perfect job, that pays well enough to cover all his living expenses, plus enough to cover most anything he might want ( ie...a house, a beautiful sports car, a family, vacations, etc. ). To get that job, the guy had interviews with 100 companies who each sent him rejection letters because his qualifications were too much or too little till he found that "one" employment opportunity that landed him the job of his dreams. Thomas Edison tried 99 ideas before he finally got the the lightbulb to work.
Sometimes if it's too much to handle, though, looking for other opportunities is sometimes a confidence builder as well. Consider all your options_ then find the ones worth working for--
Thank you so much. I appreciate
I've already gone to a couple of final rounds, and I've been ghosted at both so far. I have a couple more roles I'm interviewing for, so we'll see how those go. Wish me luck! 🤞🏻
I understand. I’ve had the same experience..but I know the right job will come along for both of us. We’ll make it!
I am also in the same boat ,still getting rejections. But I know everything happens for the good and is bound to happen. Its no one’s fault. And the day will come soon.
OP the best I can tell you is to keep your chin up and keep applying. I am in the same boat as you but I know that the right job is waiting just around the corner. I look at the interviews I have had as good practice for the job I am going to land. You have got this OP! The right job is coming your way!
Watch the goldfish scene from Ted Lasso.
Keep going.
Look at it this way—it's just a road you need to walk step by step. Rejections have nothing to do with your personality or even you as a professional. Learn from them and become better. Nobody's perfect—everyone has the right to temporary setbacks. Give yourself permission to mess up the next five interviews.
At least you're getting rejections. I just get ghosted after interviews, even when I send a follow up email a week or two later.
