Teams.
It’s because the user interface is so awful, people use it way less than Slack, so they don’t bug me nearly as much. Therefore Teams helps my sanity. The Slack sound gives me anxiety.
*Shudder*
Teams, I like having files & chat in one central place.
Slack. Between the two agencies I’ve worked at during the pandemic, it was the one that used Slack (as opposed to Gchat in this case), that was able to maintain a solid culture while working remotely. And that was primarily because they had non-work-related channels for people to join — everything from channels to post about your pets, share recipes, talk about the latest episode of The Bachelor, movies, book clubs, HIITS, parents, LGBTQ, Asian Alliance, and so forth. Basically there was a channel for however you identified and whatever your interest was. I feel like because Slack is agnostic to other “work” tools like Microsoft and G-Suite, it’s easier to use it for “water cooler” moments. And while theoretically, you could make similar channels on Teams or Gchat/Spaces, but the UX is so terrible on those that they just don’t enable the same behaviors.
Slack is 100% better. But I also had to change the sound to something else bc the default one will make you tweak out.
Slack and it isn’t even close
Agencies only use teams when 1) they have Microsoft business, or 2) the CIO already has made a lot of Microsoft commitments and Teams is just easier.

Harder to double dip if you freelance for different agencies. I still cannot believe teams hasn't figured out multiple account login.
Teams because it feel more friendly and has a better interface.

Slack, turn off the nudge.
Slack. I trust them to be around longer because they are more than just an "add-on" service.
Slack is much more intuitive and I prefer the interface as well
Slack! For all the reasons already said..
Slack. Easier to use, more intuitive.
Teams is so integrated. I just don’t get why anyone would prefer slack

Both are decent. I found Slack’s interface more intuitive/simple than Microsoft’s at first. It’s primary user is more using Slack for 1-on-1 type of conversations, and doesn’t have the more advanced group options the Team’s does.
Microsoft clearly designed Teams for more of a large business needs. It tends emphasize more of the concepts of groups chats and meetings, with more features geared towards this. Large organizations needing big group meetings, conversations.
