Over the break my parents, in their 70’s finalized their will. They are wealthy. There is myself and my sib. We each had one child but my sib had a serious drug problem so years ago I also raised my nephew. The will leaves 20% of the estate to my child, the other 80% to me. Probably been discussed before, but I haven’t seen it framed this way. Would you take a 20% pay cut for a four day work week? I would for a year to keep good people employed and share the burden. I don’t see this as a replacement for performance evaluations but just a way of acknowledging on our current path we may emerge from this significantly weakened. We probably make enough to be able to do this and my spending has gone down anyway. Thoughts?
