Hi all! Anyone have a good closed captioning service that adds captions in Spanish with a Spanish VO? We have two videos, one in English and one in Spanish, and they both need captions. I have the scripts but don’t feel comfortable and we want to make sure it is correct. Side note: We were going to use Rev but they don’t do captions in Spanish and one of their sales people just sent me a very snarky email.
Where do you find the deadline to apply for a Google job? I just don't find it in the advertisement
Something that severely gets into my nerves :
I advise clients on tech and sometimes help them debug stuff. This client told me they tested the solutions I gave and that it didn’t work, and requested a meeting to sort it off. We schedule a meeting. I just inspected their account and they haven’t tested shit, I can see the same code mistakes, they never tried to change anything.
I’m pissed. They’re basically wasting my time and I don’t even see the point in meeting with them.
Anyone have access to this report?
How is KPMG Global SAP practice and what are the usual working hours for an Assistant Manager?
Curious what are your small biz goals? Just completed fcst scenarios for outyears and it seems like quitting my analyst job is in the realm of possibilities even in the “worst case scenario” in the next 2-5 years and it scares me. I thought this was my end goal….idk I just feel weird about it
Has anyone gone from Accounting Advisory to Deals Accounting Advisory at an Investment Bank? Is this a move that makes sense? I'm assuming the hours expectations would be crazy if it's IB?
INTERN: Can you voice for me?
CW: Sure... but this script is for a sale that ended last weekend?
INTERN: Yeah I was slammed last week, I’m only getting to it now.
Looking for appropriate gift for grieving Mexican family . Our house cleaners (husband/wife team) just had a terrible loss - lost their 18 month old. Wish I had made a point to try to meet their baby
Has anyone taken part in sperm sorting at their clinics to give a better chance of choosing X or Y sperm in IVF? My clinic has a study where it can skew girl 60/40% but the working hypothesis is that the abnormal Y sperm will fall down with the heavier X sperm, so there might also be a higher chance of aneuploidy. Wanting other people’s results on this. If not, on IVF genders in general - are you getting more boy or girl normal embryos?
What’s the point of a holiday calendar when HR constantly changes the days and then tells people that they are working a week before said holiday? Anybody else suffering trying to make plans from childcare to your own personal self-care due to an unpredictable work schedule? Have you been let go for putting your foot down?

Any advice on meeting remote colleagues for the first time at an event? Feeling super insecure about in person interactions after 2 plus years working remote and forgot what working in person even feels like. What do I do with my hands? It is seriously giving me a ton of anxiety thinking that I will be awkward AF since I’ve never met these people IRL and I need to come off confident etc
Walmart vs Morgan Stanley
I have got an opportunity to work at Walmart Global Tech Bengaluru as a SDE-III for their pharma team. I am only concerned with work life balance at Walmart. Should I consider this offer or stay at Morgan Stanley ? Please suggest.

Has anyone gone from management/strategy consulting to a data or product analyst role? I don’t have much time to beef up my hard skills while working, but considering taking a break and pursuing a bootcamp/taking courses in order to break in..thoughts, suggestions?

Have an offer at EY as a SC2 for 140k base and 5k sign on in their commercial practice.
Currently a SC2 (about to be SC3 and begin promo year in January) at Deloitte in GPS making 110k base, but getting a market adjustment next week. The EY job seems "meh" as far as the actual work and currently have great WLB/easy life with good metrics and clear upward mobility. Thoughts on the offer and if I should switch?
I'd prefer to leave D to go to some sort of tech company vs another b4 tbh
PE Operating Partner dscssion: w/ the founders of a mid-sized investment mgmt firm abt potentially coming in as an op partner...bkgrnd consulting, tech, some corp let’s HP...what / how to prep?
Have been a L5 PgM at Amazon for one-year and thinking about opportunities to boomerang back at a higher level later on.
Anyone gone back to consulting, or is it better to go to another FAANG before boomerang? I don’t think going to industry at this point makes sense.
Concern on going to another FAANG is getting de-leveled/starting over. L5 is nebulous middle management, and it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.
Wonderful job opportunity. Anyone interested?
Has anyone ever improved their title, pay, and firm brand through a move to another firm? If so, how did you do it?

Lol did anyone buy into all the “we are a family” crap?
and getting fired on the spot
From the outside looking in, the big tech (Google and Meta) severance packages are very generous relative to other industries. I do feel for those who were affected, especially those with H1B visas, but wait until we see what a "regular" severance package is from other industries. You'll see the level of care they offer for their employees - immediate termination with 2 weeks severance and COBRA option.
Big tech layoffs won't look so bad, relatively.
It’s bs - the novelty wears off really fast
That was always BS but keep the layoffs in perspective, in most cases these companies have been hiring like crazy and headcount is going back down to it was in the very recent past.
Yeah I saw a chart somewhere of all the major tech firms that had the amount hired in the last two years and overlayed decent layoffs, it was negligible in a lot of cases (still net gain of people by long shot)
Love your work but never love your company
“The purpose of a company is to increase value for its shareholders.” This is way too easily forgotten.
I don’t get it — what about their culture and family stuff is inconsistent with recent layoffs? I don’t recall any promises not to lay people off
The impersonal way in which they did the layoffs is of concern. Send an email and remove access!?
