Personally, the option with the lowest base and highest equity. The point of joining a startup is for the high growth potential of equity.
You could get a large base salary elsewhere

I'd go with the middle one to take a balanced approach because it's a startup. Yes, it could flourish, but it could also tank.
How does equity work if they don't end up IPOing or getting acquired?
Lolll it was a genuine question 🥲, I was wondering if companies ever have to "buy back" equity
Say $1 and 0.5% equity every year (broken down by 12 monthly installments, vesting immediately). Go hard.
The 150 base x 4 years (600k) vs $125 base ($500k) and 150$ over 4 years vs $250 over 4 years(same $100k diff, but tied up in disbursements), the stock price would need to go up NO MATTER WHAT. I personally would take the high base. More money guaranteed. Negotiate some profit sharing later if it’s going up.
Any tips on how you got this offer? Was it from networking?
