It was my first job out of undergrad and I hs no idea it was happening. I thought I performed well on my projects. I had a call with my practice lead and HR and BOOM, I was out.
Since then I’ve been let go 2 other times and I don’t appreciate it but I’m more well-versed in how to handle the situation.
That sucks I am sorry.

Fired? Never. Let go? Several times, due to circumstances beyond my control.
I was let go from my first ad job and up to the final moment I thought I was getting a promotion that’s why my CD, ACD, and HR were there
I was once fired, told the boss I wanted severance, he left the room, returned 5 minutes later, and then said nevermind. Not even lying. Craziest 20 minutes of my life. The boss ended up getting disbarred like 15 months later and I found out he was firing me because I knew about his fraud (hence the severance play). Yeah, it happens to the best of us.
Legitimately fired? No.

Your boss was a supreme dick lol
I tried to quit and they asked me to work remote instead, but by that time I was already mentally checked out. I was fired after 2 months and it was honestly a huge relief

Been fired twice:
1) I worked as a waitress for 1day in college; I waited on an elder lady at lunch time, bent over backwards to take care of her, super high maintenance. She left me a 26-cent tip. I followed her out of the restaurant calling after her,”ma’am! Ma’am! I think you forgot something.” She turned around to talk to me and went like I was handing her the tab tray - when she went to grab it I dropped it on the ground and said, “I think you need this more than I do.” Manager was waiting inside the door and while he was laughing I got fired on the spot. Service industry wasn’t my bag. 🤷🏻♀️
2) I got fired from my first job out of college because I turned down my boss hitting on me and exposed the issue after they couldn’t get over it. I was left off of emails, meetings, calls, key team info, etc. I knew it was coming so I lit the place on fire before it happened. Ironically their biggest audit client that I managed sent an email to my firms owner and my boss praising me for the efficiency and seamless completion of their audit 10 minutes before I got let go. I let it rip in the exit interview, peeled out after cleaning out my office, was by the pool sunning with a bucket of beer by 2pm that day, then poached staff for my new firm.
Getting “fired” sucks but...not always depending on the back story.

I got called to my ECDs office, but he wasn’t there so waited for him. In his chair, with my feet on his desk. So he comes in to let me know i am fired. It was fast.

That was pretty epic lol. Do you ever still see him around town anywhere?
I worked at this bar/restaurant in college. In order to become a server you had to take a menu test. I told them I was already in college and didn’t need to take another test... then I kind of just stopped showing up. They called a couple times and then left a message that I was fired

First person I watched get canned let an amusement park ride operate unattended with a kid strapped on it. The kid was being a little shithead, but this person straight up locked them on the ride, jammed a rock into the foot pedal, and walked away (secluded part of the park which sometimes didn't get customers or any other employees for over an hour because it was hard to get to).
Second person I watched get fired skipped work because "a spider crawled into his throat and bit him"; no doctors note. Next day, came to the job site still high and close to black out drunk. He was on the roof when we arrived and not strapped to anything. (critical info: this was a roofing job).
Next person I watched get fired stole cash from the cash register. Camera didn't catch them, but showed that they were the only person that used the register the whole shift and that other people's pin codes to take people's orders had been entered (yuge cahfee/donut chain).
Most recent person was escorted out in handcuffs by 4 security guards, don't think they even did anything big (ITAR contractor, Apparently that's the norm there and the easiest way to terminate Aerospace engineers without taking any chances).
This was during the 2009 recession. I was being downsized, not fired for cause. Small company, no HR Dept. Boss was bumbling on about something, I didn’t understand what the meeting was about until he finally said I was being let go. I was in complete shock, didn’t see it coming, and was living paycheck to paycheck back then. I actually said, “I can’t continue this conversation right now, I’ll call you tomorrow.” This was not some strategic move, I was just in complete shock and that’s what came out. I managed to completely shock the boss with that that statement though. Left the office, got hammered with a friend, fumed overnight, and the next day called my boss and asked to meet to continue the conversation. I demanded more severance and got it.
Fired cause I dyed my hair pink 💁♀️ tbh I was 15 and worked at a hardware store and was still on probation period sooo well, great first workexperience 😂

Fired from McDonald’s when I was a teen. Mixed up weekly schedule and came in on the wrong days and missed a couple days on the weekend (no cell phone).
They missing out
Quit a few times, only once did I not work a notice. Never fired.
