Texas CPAs.....Question.... I am submitting my application for my license. Do I really need to take another 4 hour ethics course or does the 4 hour credit course I took in undergrad count??

Undergrad course doesn’t count. Need 4 hr CPE for ethics once you’ve passed all parts

You need to take another. Most firms have one that meets the requirements

The way I’m reading the application seems like I need to take another course but can someone that has recently submitted for their application in Texas confirm?

How long has it been? You have to take one every 2 years I think

Check on the website if it is approved or not

Thanks all!

Yeah I would look in your online database of self-study courses. At PwC there’s one that’s specifically called “Ethics for Texas CPAs” or something like that. Texas is specifically in the name so you know you’re getting what you need.

Haha kind of rhymes

Yeah, I moved here- Texas has their own particular CPE class for ethics.

Does it make sense to hire an executive career coach? So, I want to move on and find another job, also I would rather move to California or NY, I’m in MA now. My problem is that I’ve been with my current employer for 7 years, and they transferred me from Europe 5 years ago. I’m in my first VP job, and I got promoted from the inside. So my network is not really that big, it’s largest part consists of our employees, and I don’t have very deep connections in the HR community yet.

Currently interviewing for a designer role at Tesla - wanted some advice. The hiring manager has seemed uninterested and always dropped off interviews early and without answering any of my questions. He also mentioned that he's lost 4 designers from the team recently (red flag!). I think it'd be a cool role, but it sounds like I'd be the only designer and there's not a ton of support, BUT if I do well - lots of room for growth and promotion. Plus internal transfers after a year also an option?

Another laid off case here. Anyone moving out of US considered keeping the 401K as is instead of withdrawing? Any pros / cons to keep in mind ? Pro I see is no penalty and the fact that it'll continue to grow till I turn 65. Con is that it's a decent size amount in my case and I might need some if that cash if I don't get a job soon 🙄
