Why run multiple half marathons instead a whole marathon?

I’ve been dating a guy for couple weeks now. He asks me out every weekend but only text me one or two days before the date and after the date. So basically he doesn’t text me at all for 2-3 days a week. I know he’s prob interested enough to ask me out but is this action reasonable?
