Does anyone else here have a passion to eventually start your own company someday? I really just want to work for myself, be my own boss, make myself money, etc but I don’t know where to start. Should I start a side project on the side? Figure out what I’m passionate about, what can make me money, etc?
I am so grateful to have a job right now but I am really struggling. I’ve been at D for a little under a year and have been really unhappy with my experience. In particular, my current project and my direct supervisor make me feel unbelievably incompetent and under appreciated. Given COVID, there is little flexibility to roll off. I’ve tried to stick it through but I’m at a breaking point. Any suggestions on how to make the best of it? Or next steps?
Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.
Have been a PM for my client for the past year, successfully deploying several things. Just got told I will start working with a lower level client associate and I’m being dropped to a BA level...
I have a full sleeve. Cool to wear a short sleeve polo to a client site or should I wear long sleeves?
How do you get over a failed effort? I did learn a lot from this project and know I would do better next time. Despite that, I am still depressed and anxious over this.
Got 2 offers, 1st from British American Tobacco- Planning Expert 10% pay rise and 2nd from small company(focus on data science) 50% pay rise, Data Science Project Goal: to break into MBB or FAANG
West Monroe - is there a culture of wfh (all or part time) for non-client service staff? Eg firm operations.
If I rolled off my project and fully transitioned a role to another individual, what is the appropriate amount of time I should expect to field / answer follow-ups related to the project?
I shop at BR and my client counterpart Shops at BR clearly. Some days we will have on the same shirt.....awkward.
Just when you think the client can't get any lazier, they start rolling an ice cream cart around the office. AND TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!!! 🍦🍦🍦
How would you design an intern program for a project with a long onramp and few low-hanging fruit?
How common/acceptable is it to leave for a new job mid-case? I have an offer I’m super excited about but was staffed to a new (and fairly long) project around a month ago. I don’t want to throw my team under the bus or burn any bridges, but I also realize that I’m easily replaceable. ( I only have two YOE, so lots of number crunching and slide making that any analyst could jump in and do)
Looking to explore opportunities. Working in NYC. 3 years’ experience in telco and health. Change, project management, governance, reporting, Agile, Design Thinking. email@example.com
It's been 3 weeks since I joined IBM. I am still not allocated to any project. Is there any way where I can find suitable project for my skill set and apply for it myself?
You know what really grinds my gears? When the client inserts some incongruous slides in between your perfect slides, disrupting the optimized flow that you had spent hours working trying to attain.
Currently approaching manager promotion. And now everything is subject to Automated broker feed. Anybody with ally invest (formerly TradeKing) have issues adding it? I had troubles last year with it
best advice for someone looking to transition from consulting into tech? Was laid off recently from consulting and have around 1 yr of experience, but haven’t seen many entry-level strategy roles in tech — do folks have any advice?
Have a male friend who had been extremely helpful when my parents were sick (neuro related). He’s a recent neurosurgeon, we’re friends since primary school but we havent spoken for a decade since we lived in different coast. In the last 6 months we speak a lot due to his expertise in this health field and generosity to follow up regarding my parents health. What can I send him to thank for his help all this time? Any nice gestures. Fyi platonic only, he’s married
Who’s hiring for Jr AD’s? Or interns?

Has anyone ever exited Technology/Digital type consulting roles into something more business / commercially oriented? If so, how did you go about it and what sort of roles were open to you? I fell into Tech and it has never really been of huge interest to me. My background is 10 years experience at IBM > EY-Parthenon > AlixPartners with an MBA in between.
Thoughts on cyber exit opportunities from B4 to tech or defense firms with 2 years of software security experience and active sec+? Have heard work life balance and hands on experience are more common in industry
I’m interviewing for in-house and firm roles and I’m not sure how to navigate the compensation issue. My first job out of law school was with a state regulatory agency so comp was slotted and basically limited to salary and PTO. What should I be looking for when I interview in-house? With a firm? I don’t want to leave compensation on the table and end up feeling undervalued later.
Hi! I have two offers and I’m not sure what to do. One is with a small firm that serves as outside counsel to medical practices (leasing, employment issues and acquisitions are primary work load) and the other is in-house for a pharmaceutical company (managing outside counsel, vendor contracts, privacy). The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!
Hi Fishers, I am looking for a role in supply planning at Accenture. There are some good opportunities too on their website. But is there anyone who can refer me to these roles? Need someone who can help get me feedback on the job application.
Maternity leave is ending soon and we'll be hiring a nanny. Any recommendations on services to facilitate payroll, taxes, workers comp? Would love to hear examples of what people are using. Thanks.
How do you define work-life balance? And how much of that balance is reasonable to expect for someone with ~2 YOE, be that in the Big 4 or in smaller niche/boutique firms?
MBB fish any advice on nailing a virtual interview? What should candidates do differently (if anything)?
Considering MBB offers here. Background = ~2YOE at tier 2 (think LEK/EYP/S&). Mck role is a Junior Associate position with the highest salary offer, BCG and Bain offering an experienced AC equivalent position (with a potentially faster promotion track to SAC etc). I've heard and seen that McK experienced hires often do worse on average than BCG/Bain esp at junior levels and wanted to get some thoughts on how I should make my decision. Thank you!
That feeling when you get an exit row seat and find out your neighboring seat is empty 🎉🍻
