Never liked it. I don't think anyone who actually works likes them. It's typically college students who think they will like them and overly talky/"network focused" people who will most likely make it to partner regardless of what type of office they bug people in.

I think more than anything else it is about practicality - it is difficult to have conversations with clients when there are loud coworkers chatting away around you, and bottom line it is just distracting with everyone walking by, stopping to chat, noises, etc.... I don’t want to have to re-locate myself every time I need to have a call and there are no double monitors in any of the conference or phone rooms - if I need screenshots it will take so much longer that way.... eh whatever, it’s not going away, just thought the article was interesting. And I thank god for headphones every day! 😂

What safety nets are in place to prevent economic collapse in the event we experience a natural disaster that wiped governmental servers that stored things like property records, medical records, arrest data and other important info? Would we all defer back to paper? What if I misplaced my deed? Is someone gonna march me out of my house because someone else claimed ownership?

If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.
