What years are you looking at? Do you want a manual or an auto?
I had an 06 EX-L sedan with the V6 and 6MT in college and it was a great car. My dad ended up getting himself a newer-gen EX-L V6 6MT coupe that he still uses as a daily driver.
New or cpo used (2018-2020)
Ex-l unless you really like the looks of the sport
I like the blue color which comes only w sport. Having said that i would really feel safer with blind spot monitoring and dont want an uncomfortable ride
Sport comes with adaptive dampers, paddle shifters erc.. but more importantly it comes with 19 inch alloys.
If you don't mind a slightly harsher ride, more cabin noise, curb rashes and more expensive tires when you replace them then go for Sport.
If ride quality and quiter cabin matter to you, then do EX or EX-L.
There is also a slight fuel economy difference between the two, sport being the lower one.
At a glance, it looks like you can add options to a bunch of different trim levels. Personally, I’d skip the CVT if you want longevity. After that, option up as you’d like (eg leather, heated seats, CarPlay, moonroof, etc) and then pick whatever fits rather than shooting for a specific trim level. The Honda CPO tool is pretty usable in this regard.
Worthwhile comments on the trade offs for the sport mode to consider as well depending on your use case and what you’re looking for.
