Med Tech 1 in Microbiology department at Rush University Medical Center for $28.60/hr. M-F, 1st shift. 2 years experience as Med Tech 1 in Molecular department at Quest Diagnostics. Yay or nay on the offer? Quest currently pays them $25.88/hr plus 15% shift differential because they’re night shift.

Need to find ways to cut our dept budget by 10%. Curious to see where we can look to find those savings? Thank you!

Advice needed! Have just been asked to Freelance with W2 form. Without any benefits. Is this even possible? Would I lose my eligibility for Unemployment insurance once the gig ends? Anyone else have coworkers who just video call you with no notice? My new partner -nice guy- will just video me to chat minor things through. Not major brainstorming. And I’m over here thinking, “hey just because you’ve gotten yourself video-ready doesn’t mean that I did.” And yeah, I know I can just calmly say this to him. But damn, it’s like he thinks he can just tap a button and I’m gonna pop out of a desk ready to give him 100% attention. Just give me 5 minutes notice, bro. Damn.

I got some pretty direct feedback today. I’m extremely passionate about my job and sometimes that can translate into a lot of frustration. I struggle with anger if someone doesn’t see things the way I do (can get so convinced I’m right). People also say my feedback giving is too direct. I also get overly frustrated when people make mistakes. It’s just all a bit too much for people. That said I don’t want to lose that passion and confidence. Anybody struggle with this?
