Need advice - looking for tips for having compensation negotiation conversation at current firm or interviewing. Recently was interviewing at another big4 & when mentioned my desired salary, was told it is a bit too high. I know for sure that my coworkers are being paid that & based on market value it was fair price. The manager interviewing told me that for me to get promoted so fast in just a few years show that I must be exceptional worker & have great skill set. Yet was being offered low.

Moved from a regional insurance defense firm in the North East to a national AM100 firm. I was told the firm does not offer a 401K match and that it was uncommon for a firm to match. Is that true? My previous firm did have a match.

Currently working with associates that will stab you in the back at all costs and don’t care about building friendships, etc. This environment is mentally draining and I feel like I am an outlier for being kind.
