Partners and future partners, if you made the salary you are currently making annually, and through increasing client fees and gaining efficiencies through technology, nobody worked more than 40 hours a week, would you be ok with that or would you think you are leaving money on the table and would want to get more and increase hours to 45-50? My main question is if we could achieve 40 hour weeks would you be satisfied or will you want to get hours up to what you’re used to?
Hi Fishes 🐠,
Hope you are doing great! I wanted to reach out because I’m currently exploring new opportunities. I have 4 years of experience in project management and business operations. Please help sharing/referring if there is any PMO/Project Management you have. Just to add, I am currently serving my notice period and will be available to join after 20th Jan'22.
Does anyone else get a panic attack when they get potentially staffed on a new project?
Is there supposed to be a process to determine if a project is a good fit? Feeling as though my firm regularly throws people onto engagements who have skillsets unrelated to what the role demands
Any suggestions for structuring a quarterl review (internally) of all work for a client? Imagine a CEO and CCO (or ECD) sitting down with Account/Creative leads on Client A and being talked through the big projects, then the discussion turns to constructive feedback/identifying missed opportunities etc?
I’ve literally no idea what I’m doing on my project. Don’t understand the business. And my time on faking it is coming up. Any advice?
I get anxiety before client meetings, scared that I’ll look stupid or say the wrong thing or not seem polished. What strategies can I employ to fight this?
With the DOL it would be illegal for firms to cut advisor grids due to lack of growth. That would present a clear conflict of interest that would hurt the client. Yes?
I went into the office this week in order to run an important call with a client now that all my kids and wife are home for the summer. I was one of 3 people there in a major metro office. Office is open for up 350. I’m not convinced people are ever going back by choice. I see the value in being in the office but after having to put on nice clothes, commute, and then commute home after not doing that for a year and a half I can’t see going back to that.
What should an account planners portfolio look like? Do you guys create websites with client work examples? Or just share briefs and/strategy docs upon request? I just wouldn’t want to put an actual brief into a public portfolio as that feels a little weird, but maybe that’s just me. We’re not “creatives” so it’s a bit different, but would love to hear approaches.
Starting my first project in a new practice on Monday. Having perpetual anxiety about starting as I feel like there’s a lot of pressure to kick ass since its the first project.. tips? Thoughts? Help?

Has anybody used the Marriott 50 night Annual Choice benefit for a new bed? Other choices are useless since I'm already LTPP and not traveling on current project. Votes on JW vs. Ritz bed?
I have an L1B visa and officially transferred with the company to the US. Can I do a role outside of my specialization since I am a US resource now? I know I had to notify people mobility of any changes do project but not sure if I do if I’m in the same project but different role outside my specialization.
I keep taking the fall for something others did or didn't do. They are very small things and no one will care for over a minute. But I just hate this feeling and this project. 😕

Any recommended podcasts for a young attorney?
Remote Contract Attorney here...For anyone in the same position, do you raise your rates annually? If so, by what percentage? And do you wait until the end of the year? (I've been working for a firm for one year as of yesterday.) I get great feedback in my work and have been told everyone loves working with me.
In the past, I've worked for solo practitioners and only raised my rates once in like 3 years.
GM PF fish. We're about to have our first child and are debating between a custodial account and a regular brokerage. Right now, we don't see a HUGE benefit to a custodial brokerage account other than saving a few tax dollars on the first 2G's. Other than a 529, have you chosen a custodial or invested in a regular brokerage account with the intention of it being for your child/ren? We talk about PF a lot in this chat, but I'm looking for some insight into family financing as well.
Hello Moms, Has anyone fully recovered from post natal SPD/PGP(pelvic girdle pain). What worked to resolve it? How did you manage the pain with caring for your child?
Sustainable skill set or solid network?
How do I ask to change my job title? The duties that they’ve recently added is outside the scope of my current role. I have pulled job descriptions from other firms and the new duties match
Have you ever gone to the wrong airport?
Meta 🐠: Any Security Program Managers at Meta willing to chat? I have an upcoming conversation with a recruiter and want to understand a little about compensation expectations and WLB. TIA!
Anyone heard of ES99? How are they as an agency?
Been practicing immigration law for a few years at a nonprofit. I love the field, but it’s barely paying the bills in LA for my family. I’ve been applying to a lot of jobs for a year and trying to market myself, but I’m either not being called to interviews or being told I don’t have any experience outside immigration. I have a strong resume and interview skills but I feel like there’s a giant immigration/nonprofit sticker on my forehead and I can’t ge rid of it. Any suggestions on a transition?
How do you cope up with professional stress?
Anyone here work with Salesforce Canada and know the pay range for Manager, Finance Program Management & Delivery... im in the middle of interviewing and will like to assess if its worth my time. Thanks
My mother just gave me a scrap book she found buried away. my grandma had been assembling w/ pictures of me since I was born until she passed my 2nd year of college. Damn if it didn't hit home.
I was just given a promotion and the compensation was lower than what I hoped given my external market data research (20k under that) and knowing the midpoint to my previous level (9k under that). I’ve never negotiated a promotion before and was prepared to do it in a way where I shared that I’m extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity but wanted to see if we could discuss the comp. Basically it went the way we fear as women - I was told it makes me look ungrateful.
