I feel your pain. No one cares about legal immigration.
Think of it as a politician and incentive for them to solve this problem is almost none.
The immigrant community is diverse and not united. Most immigrants don't have it that bad as compared to Indian and Chinese. Can get green card in about 2 years.
Immigrants are politically powerlessness and once they are citizens they want restrictive immigration policies so that their wages don't go down by new people who are willing to work for less in the market even in highly specialized industries like tech or medicine.
I don't think the immigration problem will ever be solved as solving this problem has zero benefits to the political powerful people (citizens).
I feel your pain but it's just something we will have to go through unless this get lobbied the shit out by companies but even then I think the companies benefit by this whole fiasco since they got the immigrants by their balls and won't switch the company as often as citizens do. Less churn, people willing to stay longer due to their immigration needs.
Lot of us have this mutual feeling. They don’t really care. No use stressing out!

Stay strong OP,sending my best wishes ..I totally understand the pain having gone through the rough journey but I can assure you the pain goes away once you have the GC in hand..stay strong
OP I hear you. Unfortunately neither side cares about people like us trying to legally immigrate. Stay strong and positive! There is always light at the end of the tunnel!
Same boat , same pain , one just gets used to of it . Wait till some nativist comes and asks “ why don’t you just go back “ . That’s when you feel like stop talking about immigration on these public forums
Sorry to hear that Op. Hope situation improves sooner

I just got citizenship but my ceremony was delayed by two months. I feel you bro. Hang in there.
The worst part? USCIS does not need funding from the government. If they literally say to every person standing in the GC queue to fork up their deficit via added fees for processing and fully fund them in exachange for clearing the backlog, am sure most on this thread would actually pay the $$ and consider it as sunk cost for perpetual peace of mind. It isnt about the money, it is about political will
Assuming you're Indian.. I can totally relate. It somehow worked out for me this time - becoming more and more frustrating even after spending over 8 yrs in US
Understand the concerns with longer timelines but, who's stopping you from visiting home apart from the COVID related travel restrictions?
