Asians in Consulting

The bamboo ceiling, real or not. Idk if we should rally behind other POCs to speak up about microagressions at work since we do get jobs and represented well (often over) in white collar professions. But why are there so little Asian CEOS, board members, and leaders in general. I found that I am not being taken seriously as a leader, manager, or superior personally and professionally. How do I change this, I am tired of the disrespect..

If you count Indian as Asian, there are a lot.

They are also better at English as immigrants because they learn it as a native tongue compared to east and southeast Asians.

Let me pose a question to you commenting on Indian CEOs. Do you personally feel like you can be yourself at work or do you think you have to tip toe compared to white and black folks? If so, why is that, why do I speak up it's not viewed the same way as other minorities?

Dear author, as a black person I can tell you that Black people cannot be themselves in corporate America. There are constant discussions and support groups about this. Black people cannot be authoritative without penalty. We receive performance feedback that we are angry and abrasive. And our scores are lowered thereby lowering by our comp. You’re totally on point with the rest of your comment but please understand where you are off base

I slept 2 hours last night and I'm freaking exhausted.😫 Sometimes I feel so tired that I can't fall sleep. I'm not allowed to WFH, so I'm trying to cope in the office, but I feel terrible. Just wanting to vent or see if anyone has suggestions. For reference, I take warm shower before bed, no screens after 8pm, I eat healthy and exercise 3-6 days a week, use white noise machine and blackout curtains, and I take melatonin.

PwC user, We've steadfastly refused to disclose details of our firm, and I think we'll hold fast to that rule here. On the path to Partner side: I joined from undergrad and avoided an MBA. Overall I think it was a combination of luck and skill that "got me there."
