Maybe see if you’re able to take an entire week off without drinking. If you can’t without massive cravings, you might have reached that point.
I realized I was starting to crave drinks at night (every single night) in June/July so I just quit for a while. I only drink on Saturday’s sometimes now.
It happens to the best of us and it’s been a tough year. However, it’s better to realize it now and cut yourself off before it gets out of hand. I don’t know if you’ve used those 6 free therapy sessions the firm gives us, but maybe that can help you with it as well. I wish you the best!
Hi ... I am in recovery. Haven’t drank alcohol in almost 14 years.
In my experience, it starts to occupy your mind, the consequences become more and more severe, and it is a weird perverse obsession of body, mind, and spirit.
My best advice for you is to try controlled drinking. Drink 1 drink. Then stop for the night. Does it bother you? Does it occupy your mind? Keep trying this experiment over a week or two with different amounts and types of alcohol. Are you able to control it?
And frankly, if you are on the path of alcoholism then only you know if you have reached a point of where and when to ask for help. This breaking point is different for everyone. If you are bringing it up here then I suspect you may think there is a problem. Definitely utilize the tools and resources available to you and feel free to message me if you want any further experience. Best of luck to you... alcoholism is hard in a normal world and the pandemic has made it sooo much harder.

Just cut out all alcohol for qa month. If you'll be fine you are fine. If you struggle or won't be able to then perhaps you do have a problem
Are you drinking because you’re bored and have nothing else to do or because you need it to function and/or feel normal?
Blessed for your positivity

Honestly when I want to drink a bunch I think about how it increases your risk for cancer. That definitely helps put it in perspective.
