Hi all, I’m a BDR at Fortinet @ with 10 months experience. There’s no progression and I’ve been offered a role in an e-commerce BDR role (series funding C) which pays about £12,000 more (60k OTE), company has a history of promoting people in just 6 months to AE which is what I want to be. Do you think it’s worth the risk as I’m in a well established firm going to a startup? Keen to understand the risks of going to a startup as a BDR too, assume it’s tougher! Fully remote, 2 months work abroad!
Hi everyone, I'm currently a BDR at SF for the french market. And I'm questioning my next steps. One of the two possible path ahead of me are:
- SmB AE
- Enterprise corporate sales ("Little AE" working in large account with a senior AE)
Which way seems to be more profitable for my next career plan ? (I'm a little bit tired of cold calling all day though.)
Should I stay at SF more few years or switch elsewhere ?
Thanks for your help ! Salesforce

That is an interesting point of view. It might be a handy saying when training new team members, thank you for sharing!
Oh my gosh, I love this analogy! But where's the lettuce? What's the base component in your example? Is it the product/service you are offering in the first pitch? I think once you have that one essential ingredient that you could market this!
What a creative analogy & important information to remember. I'm going to share this with my team.
I really like this analogy as well. MS above does have a point though, we canm't forget the base.
In some cases, yes. But you know this as someone working in this industry. It's not that simple. You have to give more. But I totally love your analogy.
